Divine Leading To The New Year

TOPIC: DIVINE LEADING INTO THE NEW YEAR

TEXT: DEUTERONOMY 31:8

"And the LORD, he it is that doth go before thee; he will be with thee, he will not fail thee, neither forsake thee: fear not, neither be dismayed."

Israel was on the verge of entering into the Promised Land when Moses confronted them with the assurance that God's presence is continuous with them even after his departure. "He will be with thee" This is an encouraging promise for a people who are venturing into an unknown destination. They were reassured that even though they were embarking on a journey into the unknown, the Lord will direct their ways.

As we embark on the journey to into the year 2021, the same God of Moses who spoke to Israel is speaking to us today. Yes, His message is the same for all who put their hope and faith in Him.

The text is a declaration of God's complete and total willingness to be involved in our lives. It speaks volumes about His thought of peace and great expectation toward us. A breakdown of the verse reveals the following:

1. "He Goes Before You"

We might be facing uncertainty in the new year, but the Lord knows it like the back of His hand. He knows every month, every week, every day of the new year from January to December. He will lead us through even the most difficult territory. Prophet Isaiah pictures the scenario in these words:

" Every valley shall be exalted, and every mountain and hill shall be made low: and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough places plain and the glory of the LORD shall be revealed, and all flesh shall see it together: for the mouth of the LORD hath spoken it."(Isaiah 40:4-5)

2." He Will Be With Thee"

God's presence provides safety and security to His people at all times.

"The LORD is thy keeper: The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." (Psalms 121: 5a, 8)

"There shall no evil befall thee, neither shall any plague come nigh thy dwelling. For he shall give his angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways." (Psalms 91:10-11)

The presence of the Lord puts the enemy to flight.

3." He Will Not Fail Thee Neither Forsake Thee"

When God gives a promise, it is guaranteed. His promises never fail. He watches over His word to perform it.

"... and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:20 B)

As long as we remain faithful to the Lord, His presence will never depart from us.

4."Fear Not, Neither be Dismayed"

As a child of God, you don't need to panic as to what 2021 will bring forth. Reject every trace of fear from your heart. Have faith in God's ability to see you through.

You might come across giants and many adversaries might be on the way to hinder, "ye shall not fear them: for the LORD your God he shall fight for you." (Deuteronomy 3:22)

In 2021, don't be dismayed with the turn of events. Only be strong and courageous and depend on the strength of the Lord through fervent prayers. The Scripture admonishes us to

"Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus."(Philippians 4:6-7)

🙏Let's worship God, bless His holy name. Adore Him and lift Him on high. He is the Almighty God, higher than the highest, King of kings and Lord of lords, worship Him.

🙏Let's thank God for His faithfulness, for His mercies and compassion towards us. Thank Him for preserving your life and providing for your needs. Thank His giving you robust health and cure.

🙏Father, we commit the new year to Your divine control and supervision. Take charge of every event of my life in 2021 in the mighty name of Jesus

🙏 Father, for thy name's sake, lead me and guide me through 2021 and beyond in the name of Jesus name.

🙏Father, build a wall of fire around me and engrave me in the palm of Your Hands, deliver me from evil in the mighty name of Jesus.

🙏Father, my eyes are upon You for the supply of all my needs in 2021 according to Your riches in glory by Christ Jesus.

🙏Father, may Your presence never depart from me. Help me to live a well-pleasing life before You in the mighty name of Jesus.

🙏Lord, help me to be a vessel unto honour and make me a channel of blessing.
