Contributed by Craig Benner on Mar 28, 2020 (message contributor)
Summary: God is evermore faithful.
God Distributes His Faithfulness
1Co 4:2 Moreover it is required in stewards, that a man be found faithful.
Ps 31:23 O love the LORD, all ye his saints: for the LORD preserveth the faithful, and plentifully rewardeth the proud doer.
I. To the Goer
- Witness, preacher, evangelist, missionary, sower
2Th 3:3 But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
Ps 126:6 He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him.
What a joy it is to be called to go and share the gospel to the uttermost regions.
As we have stepped out in obedience and faith, God has provided our every need. He has taken care of us physically. He has been our Protector and our Physician.
It has been our privilege to learn new cultures and meet new groups of people.
Most of all, it has been a joy to sow and reap in the work of the gospel and see the kingdom of God advanced.
II. To the Getter
-the soul that receives and accepts the goodness of the Lord
Ps 46:10 Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth.
Ps 79:1 O God, the heathen are come into thine inheritance;
Ps 98:2 The LORD hath made known his salvation: his righteousness hath he openly shewed in the sight of the heathen.
Mt 11:5 The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them.
2Pe 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
Nineveh was spared because a reluctant missionary brought them the message from God and they repented.
Two spies were sent into Jericho and found Rahab the harlot. Thus was the beginning of her salvation journey.
Over the years of missionary work we have personally ministered to and prayed with hundreds, if not thousands of souls who have experienced the touch of the Lord.
In street ministry, in churches, in bible schools, in youth camps, in hospitals, in prisons, in rehab centers, in tent revivals, in bus stations, in fruit markets, and many other places; we have preached the gospel and souls have made eternal choices concerning their souls.
III. To the Giver
-those who unselfishly, humbly, and graciously give willingly to the furtherance of the Kingdom of God
Dt. 15:10 Thou shalt surely give him, and thine heart shall not be grieved when thou givest unto him: because that for this thing the LORD thy God shall bless thee in all thy works, and in all that thou puttest thine hand unto.
Pr 28:20 A faithful man shall abound with blessings: but he that maketh haste to be rich shall not be innocent.
Lu 6:38 Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
Pr 28:27 He that giveth unto the poor shall not lack: but he that hideth his eyes shall have many a curse.
2 Co. 9:6b he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully.
It should be no surprise to know that many who have given sacrificially over the years, have in turn been blessed in return.
Many families and businesses that have been faithful in giving to the work of the Lord out of a pure heart, now have more material blessings than ever before. Others have found a place of great contentment as they have personally experienced the joy of giving.
