INTRODUCTION:
The Christian life is not an ordinary existence, but a supernatural journey designed by God to reveal His power, glory, and Kingdom on the earth. When a believer is born again, he or she is born into a supernatural life, because the Spirit of God now dwells within. However, walking in the supernatural is not a one-time experience but a progressive journey into deeper dimensions.
There are realms of power, authority, revelation, and manifestations of God’s presence that believers are invited to step into. Each dimension reveals a new level of God’s glory and grants us access to greater exploits. Sadly, many Christians remain in the shallow waters of ordinary religious living, when God has called us into the deeper waters of the Spirit.
Understanding the dimensions of the supernatural is key to living a victorious Christian life. As we explore these realms, our hunger for God must increase, and our faith must be activated to walk in higher levels of grace and power.
1. THE DIMENSION OF REVELATION
This is where God opens the eyes of His children to perceive spiritual truths that are hidden from the natural mind. Without revelation, one cannot operate effectively in the supernatural.
a) Spiritual understanding – Ephesians 1:17-18: God grants wisdom and revelation to understand His mysteries.
b) Unveiling hidden truths – 1 Corinthians 2:9-10: The Spirit reveals what natural senses cannot comprehend.
c) Illumination through the Word – Psalm 119:105: God’s Word becomes light and guidance for supernatural living.
d) Access to divine secrets – Daniel 2:22: God reveals deep and secret things to those who seek Him.
Biblical Example: Daniel received supernatural revelations of dreams and mysteries, which elevated him above all the wise men of Babylon (Daniel 2:19-23).
2. THE DIMENSION OF POWER
This is the realm where the believer demonstrates God’s might over sickness, demons, and challenges. The supernatural is incomplete without the manifestation of divine power.
a) Healing the sick – Mark 16:17-18: Power is given to lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.
b) Casting out devils – Luke 10:19: Authority is given to trample over all the power of the enemy.
c) Deliverance from oppression – Acts 10:38: Jesus healed all that were oppressed of the devil, showing the power of God at work.
d) Signs and wonders – Hebrews 2:4: God confirms His Word through miracles, signs, and wonders.
Biblical Example: Paul operated in extraordinary power as God wrought special miracles through his hands (Acts 19:11-12).
3. THE DIMENSION OF DIVINE PRESENCE
This is the realm where God’s presence becomes tangible in a believer’s life, bringing peace, favour, and breakthrough.
a) God with us – Matthew 28:20: Jesus promised to be with us always, even unto the end of the world.
b) Presence that brings rest – Exodus 33:14: God’s presence guarantees peace and supernatural rest.
c) Presence that breaks yokes – Isaiah 10:27: The anointing, which is God’s presence, destroys every burden and yoke.
d) Presence that attracts favour – Genesis 39:2-3: Joseph prospered because the Lord’s presence was with him.
Biblical Example: The Ark of the Covenant brought prosperity and blessing into the house of Obed-Edom (2 Samuel 6:11).
4. THE DIMENSION OF DIVINE WISDOM
Supernatural wisdom is beyond human intellect; it is the ability to apply divine insights for solutions and direction.
a) Wisdom from above – James 3:17: God’s wisdom is pure, peaceable, and powerful.
b) Wisdom for leadership – Proverbs 8:15-16: By wisdom kings reign and rulers decree justice.
c) Wisdom in speech – Luke 21:15: God gives His people a mouth and wisdom that adversaries cannot resist.
d) Wisdom for exploits – Ecclesiastes 9:16: Wisdom is better than weapons of war and brings victory.
Biblical Example: Solomon asked for wisdom, and God gave him supernatural wisdom that made him the greatest king of his time (1 Kings 4:29-34).
5. THE DIMENSION OF GLORY
This is the highest dimension of the supernatural where God’s splendour and majesty are revealed through His children.
a) Glory transforms lives – 2 Corinthians 3:18: We are changed into the same image from glory to glory.
b) Glory manifests in worship – 2 Chronicles 5:13-14: The glory of the Lord filled the temple during worship.
c) Glory as God’s covering – Isaiah 60:1-2: God’s glory rises upon His people, even in times of darkness.
d) Glory draws nations – Isaiah 60:3: The Gentiles are drawn to the light of God’s glory in His children.
