True wisdom is not easily found or bought, but comes from a deep relationship with God.
Today, we're trying to figure out what wisdom is, where to find it, and how to use it. Imagine playing Minecraft. You're searching for diamonds, right? You can't find them just by wandering around. You have to dig deep, explore caves, and sometimes fight off some creepers. Just like finding diamonds in Minecraft, finding real wisdom requires some serious digging.
Let's check out the book of Job. Job talks a lot about wisdom and understanding. In Job 28:12-23, he tells us where wisdom isn't and what it isn't.
Just like finding diamonds in Minecraft, finding real wisdom requires some serious digging.
Job says that wisdom isn't found among us, the living. We're not perfect, and our mistakes can mess up our understanding. The Bible tells us that we've all messed up and fallen short of God's standard. Even Job, who was a pretty good guy, couldn't come up with wisdom on his own. We need to realize that we can't just make up wisdom ourselves.
Job also says that you can't buy wisdom with money or stuff. It's priceless and you won't find it in any store or on Amazon. In Matthew 19, a rich dude asks Jesus how to get eternal life. Jesus tells him to sell everything, showing that money and stuff can't buy wisdom or eternal life.
Job wraps up by saying that only God knows the way to wisdom. He made everything with a plan and a purpose. So, God's got the cheat codes to wisdom. Jesus tells us to ask God for what we need. We can ask for anything, but as we get to know God better, we'll start to understand what He wants for us, including wisdom.
Following Jesus isn't a sprint; it's more like a marathon. It takes time, effort, and trusting God's guidance. We've got to learn to ask for help and talk to God more. By bringing everything to God, we can dig deeper and find wisdom. James 1:5 says that if we need wisdom, we can ask God, and He'll give it to us without making us feel stupid. Spend more time talking to God and reading His Word to find wisdom, knowledge, and understanding. Remember, following Jesus is a long journey with tough times. But God is always there and will give us everything we need for the journey.
