Delivered From Them All

Summary: Life sometimes feels like a series of battles, storms, and midnight seasons. The Bible does not hide the fact that the righteous will face afflictions. It says “many are the afflictions”—not one, not two, but many. Yet, here lies the believer’s confidence: “The Lord delivereth him out of them all.”
Opening Scripture:
Psalm 34:19 (KJV) – Many are the afflictions of the righteous: but the Lord delivereth him out of them all.
Introduction:
Life sometimes feels like a series of battles, storms, and midnight seasons. The Bible does not hide the fact that the righteous will face afflictions. It says “many are the afflictions”—not one, not two, but many.
Yet, here lies the believer’s confidence: “The Lord delivereth him out of them all.”
This means no matter how deep the pit, how strong the chain, or how impossible the circumstance, God has the last word, and His word is deliverance.
Main Points:
1. Afflictions Do Not Mean Abandonment
Being righteous doesn’t exempt you from troubles; it ensures God’s presence in them.
Isaiah 43:2 – “When thou passest through the waters, I will be with thee…”
Trouble is not evidence that God has left you; it’s an opportunity for Him to prove He’s with you.
Example: Joseph – Betrayed by his brothers, sold into slavery, falsely accused, imprisoned. Yet, Genesis 50:20 shows God turned it for good. When all seemed lost, deliverance came suddenly.
2. God’s Deliverance Is Sure, But Not Always Instant
Habakkuk 2:3 – “Though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come…”
Delay is not denial; God works in His timing.
Example: Hannah – Years of barrenness, mocked by her rival, yet in 1 Samuel 1, God remembered her and gave her Samuel when the time was ripe.
3. God Delivers in Unlikely Ways
Isaiah 55:8–9 – “My thoughts are not your thoughts…”
He may not use the path we expect.
Sometimes He removes the problem; other times, He strengthens you to outlast it.
Example: Daniel in the lion’s den – God didn’t keep Daniel from being thrown in, but He shut the lions’ mouths inside the den (Daniel 6:22).
4. Even When All Hope Is Lost, God Still Delivers
Romans 4:18 – “Who against hope believed in hope…” (Abraham believed despite dead circumstances).
Examples:
Israel at the Red Sea – Pharaoh behind, sea in front, no escape. God parted the waters (Exodus 14:21–22).
Lazarus – Four days dead; Jesus declared, “I am the resurrection and the life” (John 11:43–44).
Paul and Silas – Beaten, chained, midnight in prison. They sang, and God shook the foundations (Acts 16:25–26).
Practical Takeaways:
Expect challenges – Faith does not exempt you from storms.
Cling to God’s promises – Memorize verses like Psalm 34:19 and Isaiah 41:10.
Isaiah 41:10 NIV
So do not fear, for I am with you;
do not be dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you and help you;
I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
Keep praising in the pit – Praise invites the supernatural into your situation.
Watch for unusual deliverance – God may send help in unexpected packages.
Conclusion:
If you’re facing a situation today where it looks like there’s no way out, remember — Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
God has never lost a battle, and He’s not about to start with yours. He delivered Noah from the flood, Job from his losses, Joseph from prison, Esther from the threat of genocide, Peter from prison, and Paul from shipwreck — and He will deliver you too.
