Summary: In this sermon, we'll explore the scriptural warnings about end-time deceptions, their characteristics, and how to discern truth from falsehood.

As we approach the end times, the Bible warns us of an increase in deceptions that will lead many astray. In this sermon, we'll explore the scriptural warnings about end-time deceptions, their characteristics, and how to discern truth from falsehood.

The Warning of Jesus

Matthew 24:4-5 records Jesus' warning, "See to it that no one misleads you... For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many." Jesus alerts us to the danger of false messiahs and misleading teachings.

The Deception of the Antichrist

2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 describes the Antichrist's deception, "The coming of the lawless one will be in accordance with the work of Satan displayed in all kinds of counterfeit miracles, signs and wonders... They perish because they refused to love the truth and so be saved." The Antichrist will use false miracles and signs to deceive many.

The Mark of the Beast

Revelation 13:13-14 warns of the mark of the beast, "And he performs great signs, so that he even makes fire come down from heaven to the earth in the sight of men... And he deceives those who dwell on the earth because of the signs which it was given him to perform." The mark of the beast will be a tool of deception, leading many to worship the Antichrist.

Characteristics of End-Time Deceptions

1. Counterfeit miracles and signs (2 Thessalonians 2:9, Revelation 13:13-14)

2. False messiahs and prophets (Matthew 24:4-5, 24:24)

3. Distortion of truth (2 Timothy 4:3-4, Titus 1:14)

4. Blindness to sin (2 Thessalonians 2:10-12, Revelation 9:20-21)

Discerning Truth from Falsehood

1. Test all teachings against Scripture (Acts 17:11, 1 John 4:1-3)

2. Seek the Holy Spirit's guidance (John 16:13, 1 Corinthians 2:10-12)

3. Be aware of your own biases and assumptions (Proverbs 3:7, Matthew 7:3-5)

As we navigate the end times, remember:

- Deceptions will increase, leading many astray

- Test all teachings against Scripture and seek the Holy Spirit's guidance

- Be aware of your own biases and assumptions

May we remain vigilant, discerning truth from falsehood, and standing firm in our faith as we await the return of our Lord Jesus Christ.
