INTRODUCTION
December is a prophetic month where destinies either conclude badly or conclude in divine victory. As believers, we stand on the promises of God that our end shall be better than our beginning, and that the God who kept us from January until now will preserve us to cross into the new year triumphantly. Supernatural preservation is not accidental; it is a covenant benefit for those who dwell under the shadow of the Almighty.
In a world filled with uncertainties, sudden calamities, spiritual attacks, and satanic schemes, we need the covering of the Most High to shield us from harm. The enemy often intensifies his operations at the end of the year, seeking whom he may devour. But God assures us, “When I see the blood, I will pass over you.” December is the month where passover grace intensifies.
Therefore, as we journey through the final days of this year, we must be conscious that divine preservation is our covenant heritage. God has not brought us this far to abandon us. This month, His shield, His angels, and His mighty hand will keep us from all evil. December shall answer to you as a month of supernatural preservation.
1. GOD PRESERVES HIS PEOPLE BY COVENANT
God’s preservation is not random; it is established on His eternal covenant with His children. He is bound by His Word to keep those who trust in Him.
a) Covenant of divine covering (Psalm 91:4)
God covers His people under His wings, symbolising His unbreakable commitment to shield them from every attack, danger, and spiritual assault.
b) Covenant of divine exemption (Exodus 12:23)
By covenant, God exempts His children from calamities that strike the wicked; destruction may roam the land, but it cannot touch those under God’s seal.
c) Covenant of divine protection (Isaiah 54:17)
No weapon formed against you shall prosper because the covenant places a limit on the operations of the enemy over your life.
d) Covenant of divine presence (Deuteronomy 31:6)
God’s presence goes ahead of you, ensuring that no evil befalls you in your going out or coming in throughout this month.
Biblical Example: God’s covenant preserved Israel in Goshen while plagues ravaged Egypt. Not even one Israelite was touched, showing the supernatural power of covenantal protection.
2. GOD PRESERVES HIS PEOPLE THROUGH ANGELIC MINISTRATION
Angels are divine agents assigned to watch over God’s people and enforce His protective promises.
a) Angels keep your steps from danger (Psalm 91:11-12)
They bear you up, preventing physical and spiritual accidents, unseen harm, and satanic traps.
b) Angels fight unseen battles (2 Kings 19:35)
Many deliverances happen without your knowledge because angels have already intervened in the night.
c) Angels guide and warn believers (Acts 27:23–24)
Through divine messages, impressions, or dreams, angels give direction to prevent disaster.
d) Angels surround the righteous (Psalm 34:7)
They form a supernatural shield that the enemy cannot penetrate, securing you from harm in December.
Biblical Example: When Daniel was thrown into the lions’ den, God sent an angel to shut the lions’ mouths. This demonstrates the power of angelic preservation in dangerous seasons.
3. GOD PRESERVES HIS PEOPLE FROM EVIL ATTACKS AND SPIRITUAL MANIPULATIONS
The enemy intensifies warfare at the end of the year, but God guarantees safety from all forms of evil.
a) Preservation from witchcraft and occult attacks (Numbers 23:23)
No enchantment or divination can work against a believer covered by God’s power.
b) Preservation from sudden destruction (Psalm 91:5-6)
God shields you from unexpected calamities, night terrors, arrows, and plagues.
c) Preservation from evil altars and conspiracies (Isaiah 8:10)
Every gathering against you fails because God Himself defends you.
d) Preservation from end-of-year tragedies (Psalm 121:7)
The evil that hunts people in December will not come near your dwelling.
Biblical Example: God preserved the Israelites from Balaam’s attempts to curse them. The curses returned to sender, proving that God frustrates every demonic agenda.
4. GOD PRESERVES HIS PEOPLE BY SUPERNATURAL GUIDANCE
Divine direction keeps believers from the paths of danger and leads them into safety and peace.
a) Guidance from danger zones (Isaiah 30:21)
God warns you from entering places, commitments, or relationships that may lead to harm.
b) Guidance through discernment (Proverbs 3:5-6)
Supernatural wisdom helps you avoid costly mistakes as the year ends.
c) Guidance through the Word (Psalm 119:105)
God’s Word illuminates your path, keeping you from walking into the enemy’s traps.
d) Guidance through the Holy Spirit (John 16:13)
The Spirit reveals the enemy’s plans, exposes dangers, and leads you into divine security.
Biblical Example: Joseph was warned in a dream to flee with Mary and Jesus. This divine direction preserved the life of the Messiah from Herod’s evil plot.
