Summary: When unwanted circumstances comes the to us,we must learn to choose the right attitude rather than be controlled by them.

1 Chronicles 4:9 There was a man named Jabez who was more distinguished than any of his brothers. His mother named him Jabez because his birth had been so painful. 10 He was the one who prayed to the God of Israel, “Oh, that you would bless me and extend my lands! Please be with me in all that I do, and keep me from all trouble and pain!” And God granted him his request.

All of us desire a good and trouble free life. But we have to face the reality of pain, rejection, failures and unwanted situations. The presence of these undesirable troubles has lead others to question God’s love for them and power over sufferings. However, whether the pain is a result of personal mistake or accident, the very thing that matters most is our RESPONSE or ATTITUDE.

When God seems not around:

Seek to Know His Character -“The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not be in want” ( Psalms 23:1 )

Understand His Intentions For Us-“He makes me lie down in green pastures, He leads me beside quite waters, He restores my soul. He guides me in paths of righteousness for His name sake” ( Psalms 23: 2-3 )

Discover His Ability To Care For Us- “Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil for you are with me; Your rod and your staff, they comfort me” ( Psalms 23: 4 )

Comprehend The Richness Of His Provision For Us- “You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows” ( Psalms 23: 5 )

Perceive The Benefits Of Trusting Him- “Surely goodness and love will follow me all the days of my life and I will dwell in the house of the Lord Forever” ( Psalms 23: 6 )
