"You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife or his male servant or his female servant or his ox or his donkey or anything that belongs to your neighbor." (Exodus 20:17 NASB)

--for you shall not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God-- (Exodus 34:14 NASB)

Introduction: Biblical examples of jealousy/envy: Cain & Able, Joseph & his brothers, the chief priests who had Jesus crucified: For he was aware that the chief priests had handed Him over because of envy. (Mark 15:10 NASB)

Invitation: Now the deeds of the flesh are evident, which are: immorality, impurity, sensuality, idolatry, sorcery, enmities, strife, jealousy, outbursts of anger, disputes, dissensions, factions, envying, drunkenness, carousing, and things like these, of which I forewarn you, just as I have forewarned you, that those who practice such things will not inherit the kingdom of God. (Galatians 5:19-21 NASB)
