Summary: This is the 12th study in the study "The Hebrew Hymnal".

Series: The Hebrew Hymnal (Psalms) [#12]

HYMNS #14-#15: DEAD OR ALIVE?

Psalm 14-15

These two Psalms gives us a picture of those who are dead in their sins, (lost); and those who are alive in Jesus, (saved).

Dead

Psalm 14

Notice that a lost person does not acknowledge a personal God. This Psalm lists the many characteristics of the lost.

Look at the similarities between Psalm 14 and Romans 3:9-20.

Romans 3:9-20

Alive

Psalm 15

Who can live with God for all eternity? Those people who are without sin. That means that all of us are in trouble.

Romans 3:23

Romans 6:23

Romans 5:8

Romans 10:9-10, 13

When we accept God’s gift of salvation we stand justified before God. Because of the blood of Jesus, God sees us just as if we had never sinned.

Are you dead in your sins or alive in Jesus Christ?
