VIII. MAIN BODY:

Genesis 3:16 (Amplified Bible)

To the woman He said, I will greatly multiply your grief and your suffering in pregnancy and the pangs of childbearing; with spasms of distress you will bring forth children. Yet your desire and craving will be for your husband, and he will rule over you.

A. Curses of the woman:

1. multiplied grief, suffering in pregnancy and pangs of childbearing

2. with pain they will bring forth children

3. desire and craving will be for the husband

4. the husband will rule over her

1. multiplied grief, suffering in pregnancy and pangs of childbearing

2. with pain they will bring forth children

All women experience these, and the climax of the pain is when you're in the delivery room with your wife and they are all shouting in intense pain.

John 16:21 (Amplified Bible)

A woman, when she gives birth to a child, has grief (anguish, agony) because her time has come. But when she has delivered the child, she no longer remembers her pain (trouble, anguish) because she is so glad that a man (a child, a human being) has been born into the world.

Micah 4:9-10 (Amplified Bible)

Now why do you cry aloud? Is there no king among you? Has your counselor perished, that pains have taken you like a woman in labor?

Writhe in pain and labor to bring forth, O Daughter of Zion, like a woman in childbirth; for now you shall go forth out of the city and you shall live in the open country. You shall go to Babylon; there you shall be rescued. There the Lord shall redeem you from the hand of your enemies.

1 Thessalonians 5:3 (Amplified Bible)

When people are saying, All is well and secure, and, There is peace and safety, then in a moment unforeseen destruction (ruin and death) will come upon them as suddenly as labor pains come upon a woman with child; and they shall by no means escape, for there will be no escape.

1 Timothy 2:15 (Amplified Bible)

Nevertheless [the sentence put upon women of pain in motherhood does not hinder their souls’ salvation, and] they will be saved [eternally] if they continue in faith and love and holiness with self-control, [saved indeed] through the Childbearing or by the birth of the divine Child.

But the good thing about this, the Good News, is the Offspring or Messiah has been given before the curse.

Genesis 3:15 (Amplified Bible)

And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring and her Offspring; He will bruise and tread your head underfoot, and you will lie in wait and bruise His heel.

3. desire and craving will be for the husband

Genesis 4:7 (Amplified Bible)

If you do well, will you not be accepted? And if you do not do well, sin crouches at your door; its desire is for you, but you must master it.

Every woman's desire and craving will be for the husband. That's why a believing husband teaches the wife, that the desire and craving is directed to the LORD not to the husband.
