Message Point: We should have a continual attitude of gratitude for the blessings God gives us.

Focus Passage: Psalm 100

Supplemental Passage: in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

Introduction: Some of God’s Blessings:

An acceptance that can never be questioned. (Ephesians 1:6).

An inheritance that can never be lost (I Peter 1:3-5).

A deliverance that can never be excelled (2 Corinthians l:10).

A grace that can never be limited (2 Corinthians 12:9).

A hope that can never be disappointed. (Hebrews 6:18, 19).

A bounty that can never be withdrawn. (I Colossians 3:21-23).

A joy that need never be diminished (John 15:11).

A nearness to God that can never be reversed (Ephesians 2:13).

A peace that can never be disturbed (John 14:27).

A righteousness that can never be tarnished (2 Corinthians 5:21).

A salvation that can never be canceled (Hebrews 5:9).

I. Thanksgiving in our hearts

a. Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places in Christ, just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him. (Ephesians 1:3-4 NASB)

b. Jesus answered and said to them, "Do not grumble among yourselves. (John 6:43 NASB)

c. in everything give thanks; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18)

II. Praise on our lips

a. Praise the LORD! Praise God in His sanctuary; Praise Him in His mighty expanse. Praise Him for His mighty deeds; Praise Him according to His excellent greatness. Praise Him with trumpet sound; Praise Him with harp and lyre. Praise Him with timbrel and dancing; Praise Him with stringed instruments and pipe. Praise Him with loud cymbals; Praise Him with resounding cymbals. Let everything that has breath praise the LORD. Praise the LORD! (Psalms 150:1-6 NASB)

b. Do all things without grumbling or disputing; (Philippians 2:14 NASB)

c. Don't even grumble, as some of them did and were killed by the destroying angel. (1 Corinthians 10:10)

d. Praise the LORD in song, for He has done excellent things; Let this be known throughout the earth. (Isaiah 12:5 NASB)

III. Peace on our minds

a. God be gracious to us and bless us, And cause His face to shine upon us-- Selah. That Your way may be known on the earth, Your salvation among all nations. Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; For You will judge the peoples with uprightness And guide the nations on the earth. Selah. Let the peoples praise You, O God; Let all the peoples praise You. The earth has yielded its produce; God, our God, blesses us. God blesses us, That all the ends of the earth may fear Him. (Psalms 67:1-7 NASB)

b. These people grumble and complain and live by their own selfish desires. They brag about themselves and flatter others to get what they want. (Jude 1:16 CEV)

c. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all comprehension, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. (Philippians 4:6-7 NASB)
