“CONTINUE THE MESSAGE”
B.R.: John 8:31-32
TEXT: John 8:31: “Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him, If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed….
INTRODUCTION: During the revival services, my prayer was that Jesus would continue to move by his Spirit after the evangelist leaves. And truly, Jesus still answers prayer. The nightly services may have ended, but the Spirit of God is still moving mightily in the lives of men and women.
People are still getting saved!
People are still getting healed!
People are still getting delivered!
People are still getting filled with the Holy Ghost!
Jesus is continuing to rip men and women from the devils territory and bringing them to a place of rest.
No doubt, the enemy is upset. It’s like a bomb went off in his camp and all his demons and imps are in disarray. Why? Because the Captain of the Host has just descended down on his camp. Jesus is reining havoc on the devils kingdom.
We are winning!!!
Jesus said “If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed” Jesus said “continue”. Continue on in what I have told you.
Continue on in the life I have given you.
Continue to do those things which I have laid upon your heart.
"For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind. We don’t have time to be afraid! Jesus has given us all the tools we need to be victorious over the enemy. (Me as a young Christian being afraid of the Holy Ghost). If God be for us, who can be against us!
Who shall separate us from the love of Christ?
Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword? No, Paul said, a thousand times no! He said we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
WE MUST CONTINUE THE GOOD FIGHT OF FAITH!
The bible says “Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses. The Apostle Paul knew what he was talking about when he said fight the good fight of faith.
Five times he was scourged by the Jews.
three times by the Romans.
he suffered shipwreck four times.
and was in perils of waters,
in perils of robbers,
in perils by his own countrymen,
in perils by the heathen,
in perils in the city,
in perils in the wilderness,
in perils in the sea,
in perils amongst false brethren. All for the gospel sake.
We have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. But we must continue to lay aside every weight and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
How can you fight the devil?? With the Word of God.
WE MUST CONTINUE TO RESIST THE DEVIL!
The bible says submit yourselves therefore to God, Resist the devil, and he will flee from you. That word “RESIST” means to ‘take a stand against’. In the Name of Jesus, We must continue to take a stand against sin. Stand up for what’s right! Put the devil where he belongs…under our feet!!! The bible says “draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you.
Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up
.
WE MUST CONTINUE THIS MESSAGE OF HOPE!
And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. God Will Not Let Us Be Ashamed When We have Hoped in Him. There has never been a time when I believed God for something and it never came to pass. It may not have come to pass at that moment, but it always does.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly.
When were were weak, Jesus died on the cross so that we might be strong, for his strength is made perfect in our weakness.
But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
While we were out there doing our own thing,
Trying to find our niche in life,
Satisfying the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life, Jesus had already paid the price with his life, to redeem us back to God.
