Summary: CONTINUAL PRAISE DEVELOPS GROWTH!

CONTINUAL PRAISE

INTRODUCTION:

THE BOOK OF PSALMS IS A COLLECTION OF 150 POEMS WRITTEN BY VARIOUS AUTHORS THROUGHOUT ISRAEL’S HISTORY. ABOUT HALF OF THE PSALMS WERE WRITTEN BY KING DAVID. YOU DISCOVER VARIOUS EXPRESSIONS OF HUMAN EMOTIONS IN THE PSALMS.

INTERPRETATION:

PSALMS 71:6 (NKJV) BY YOU I HAVE BEEN UPHELD FROM BIRTH; YOU ARE HE WHO TOOK ME OUT OF MY MOTHER’S WOMB. MY PRAISE SHALL BE CONTINUALLY OF YOU.

POINTS TO PONDER:

DAVID ABSOLUTELY DECLARED TRUST IN THE LORD. FROM THE WOMB TO HIS OLD AGE, HE DECLARED HIS PRAISE TO THE LORD. THE HISTORY OF HIS EARLY CARE ILLUSTRATED GOD’S LOVING CARE. ALTHOUGH HE WAS NOT ALWAYS STELLAR IN HIS CONDUCT, HE STILL CAME BACK TO TRUST IN THE LORD.

DAVID KEENLY EXPRESSED HIS THANKS TO GOD FOR PROTECTING AND GUIDING HIM THROUGHOUT HIS LIFE. HIS EXPERIENCES FROM HIS PAST WERE AND ABSOLUTE GUARANTEE OF A BRIGHT FUTURE.

NOTE THE LATTER PART OF PSALM 71:6 (MY PRAISE SHALL BE CONTINUALLY OF YOU). WHERE GOODNESS HAS BEEN UNCEASINGLY RECEIVED, PRAISE SHOULD UNCEASINGLY BE OFFERED (CHARLES SPURGEON). THE LORD GIVES GRACE TO SINNERS WHO HONOR HIS WORD: HE WILL REWARD THAT FAITH.

APPLICATION:

BELIEVER, POSTURE YOURSELF IN CONTINUAL PRAISE: HE WILL REWARD YOU!
