Summary: Be Content with your salvation, this Truth… but don’t be satisfied.

Quotes:

“There are two ways to get enough. One is to continue to accumulate more and more. The other is to desire less.” ― G.K. Chesterton

"Happiness consists not in having what you want, but in wanting what you have." - Nishan Panwar

“He is richest who is content with the least…”- Socrates

“Who is wise? He that learns from everyone. Who is powerful? He that governs his passions. Who is rich? He that is content. “ - Benjamin Franklin

“Everything has its wonders, even darkness and silence, and I learn, whatever state I may be in, therein to be content.” - Helen Keller

“The greater part of our happiness or misery depends upon our dispositions, and not upon our circumstances.” ― Martha Washington

Job 6:28; Hebrews 13:5

CONTENT: Is ar-ke-o in the Greek [G714]. Meaning: To be possessed of unfailing strength (to be strong, to suffice and to be enough).

Ar-ke-o [G714] is render in the English in the KJV as Content, be Sufficient, be Enough and Suffice.

I Timothy 6:8 “And having food and raiment let us be [G714] therewith content. [G714]”

Specifically what is the source/root of true Contentment?

Hebrew 13:5 “…and be content [G714] with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I [Jesus] will never leave thee, nor forsake thee.”

We as a people of God tend to love His Word, our walk and relationship with the Father…

We are to be Content… but we should not be satisfied.

We have food, clothing and shelter… we should be content.

But we should not be satisfied as life is more than these things.

Living is and should be much more than the fact that you are breathing!

Revelation 3:17-18 “17- Because thou sayest, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and knowest not that thou art wretched, and miserable, and poor, and blind, and naked: 18- I counsel thee to buy of me gold tried in the fire, that thou mayest be rich; and white raiment, that thou mayest be clothed, and that the shame of thy nakedness do not appear; and anoint thine eyes with eyesalve, that thou mayest see.”

Certainly be Content with your salvation, this Truth… but don’t be satisfied.

How much do you read and study the Bible?

How much do you pray?

Be Content but not Satisfied. Pray more, read more and study more.

Jesus asked, “What do ye more than theses?”

II Timothy 2:15 “Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

Consider the PatriarchDavid (II Samuel 11):

II Samuel 11:1 “And it came to pass, after the year was expired, at the time when kings go forth to battle, that David sent Joab, and his servants with him, and all Israel; and they destroyed the children of Ammon, and besieged Rabbah. But David tarried still at Jerusalem.”

This verse drips with the sound of “satisfaction”.

What happen to the GIANT killer?... He got Satisfied!

Where are the Jeremiah’s who was content but not satisfied?

Jeremiah was called the “weeping prophet”.

Where are the weepers today not satisfied with the status-quo?

Where are the David’s that can say:

“I water my couch overnight with my tears.”

Where are the Jobs who say:

“Mine eyes pourth out with tears.”

Where are the Isaiah’s:

“I will water thee with my tears.”

Where are the Psalmist that say:

“Sow in tears and you will reap in joy.”

Where are the Paul’s that:

“Cease not to warn everyone with tears.”

We weep over dead pets while there are literally many thousands of lost souls dying each and every day.

Therefore we cannot believe one thing and do another;

Preach one thing and do another.

Poem:

"My only life will soon be past & only what is done for Jesus will last & when I am dyeing how happy I will be if the lamp of my life burned out for thee."
