Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas

Sermons

Summary: We have looked at the basis of prayer, the types of prayer, and the use of prayer. Even the apostles struggled with the use of prayer. They even asked our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to teach them how to pray.

First preached this message 12/26/2001 Grace Southern, Goddard, KS

Introduction

This morning I want us to turn to and keep our place there as we look at the Lord’s Prayer and consider that, the Lord’s Prayer Forces Us to Consider;

1. Our personal need

2. Our principle need

3. Our physical need

4. Our moral need

1. Consider the Lord’s Prayer forces us to consider our personal need:

Our Father in Heaven, hallowed be Your name.

In this manner, therefore, pray:

Our Father in heaven,

Hallowed be Your name.

2. Consider the Lord’s Prayer forces us to consider our principle

need: Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done.

Your kingdom come.

Your will be done

On earth as it is in heaven.

3. Consider the Lord’s Prayer forces us to consider

our physical need: Give us this day our daily

bread.

Give us this day our daily bread.

4. Consider the Lord’s Prayer forces us to consider

our personal need: Forgive us our trespasses as we

forgive those who trespass against us.

And forgive us our debts,

As we forgive our debtors.

5. Consider the Lord’s Prayer forces us to consider our moral need:

Lead us not into temptation but deliver us from evil.

And do not lead us into temptation,

But deliver us from the evil one.

For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.
