INTRODUCTION:
In a world filled with distractions, disappointments, and demands, it is easy for our minds to become overwhelmed and our hearts to grow faint. Life's trials often push us to consider everything except God. We look at our problems, our pains, and our limitations, but we fail to fix our eyes on the One who holds all power in His hands.
The call to “consider God” is a call to shift our focus. It is an invitation to meditate on who God is, what He has done, and what He is capable of doing. When we pause to reflect on God's nature and His works, we find strength, clarity, and renewed hope.
To “consider God” is to remember that He is ever-present, all-knowing, all-powerful, and deeply loving. It means acknowledging His sovereignty over all situations, trusting His timing, and believing that He is working all things for our good.
1. CONSIDER GOD’S GREATNESS
Before we complain or give up, we must remember how mighty our God is.
a) He is the Creator of the universe
The vastness of creation is evidence of His unmatched power (Isaiah 40:28).
b) He is sovereign over all things
Nothing happens outside His knowledge or control (Psalm 103:19).
c) He never grows weary or confused
While men tire, God remains strong and alert (Isaiah 40:29).
d) His wisdom is unsearchable
God sees the end from the beginning and knows the best path for us (Romans 11:33).
Biblical Example: Job, in the midst of suffering, was called to consider God’s greatness and power (Job 37:14).
2. CONSIDER GOD’S FAITHFULNESS
When we feel abandoned, God reminds us of His unfailing love.
a) God has never failed any of His promises
What He says, He will do (Numbers 23:19).
b) His faithfulness is new every morning
Even when we are faithless, He remains faithful (Lamentations 3:22-23).
c) He finishes what He starts
God is not a quitter; He completes the work in us (Philippians 1:6).
d) Past victories are proof of future breakthroughs
Remembering what God has done strengthens our faith for today.
Biblical Example: Abraham considered God faithful who had promised, and he received Isaac (Hebrews 11:11).
3. CONSIDER GOD’S SACRIFICE
Jesus is the ultimate proof of God’s love and mercy.
a) He bore the cross for us
His death was the price for our redemption (Hebrews 12:2).
b) He endured pain, rejection, and death
He understands our suffering because He went through it.
c) His sacrifice gives us access to grace and strength
Through Christ, we can boldly approach God in our time of need (Hebrews 4:16).
d) If He gave us Jesus, He won’t withhold any good thing
Christ is God’s greatest gift; everything else is secondary (Romans 8:32).
Biblical Example: Paul constantly considered the cross, which gave him boldness in trials (Galatians 6:14).
4. CONSIDER GOD’S TIMING
God operates outside our schedules, but His timing is perfect.
a) Delay is not denial
God's waiting room is a place of preparation, not punishment.
b) He makes all things beautiful in His time
His timing reveals His beauty and purpose (Ecclesiastes 3:11).
c) Trusting His time requires faith
Patience is a test of spiritual maturity.
d) The waiting process is building something in us
God uses time to develop our strength and resilience.
Biblical Example: Joseph considered God’s timing, and though delayed, he reached the throne (Genesis 41:41-46).
5. CONSIDER GOD’S PROMISES
When fear speaks, let faith in God’s Word rise.
a) God's Word is unbreakable
Heaven and earth may pass away, but His promises remain (Matthew 24:35).
b) He watches over His Word to perform it
What God says will never fall to the ground (Jeremiah 1:12).
c) His promises cover every area of life
There is a word for every challenge we face.
d) Standing on God’s promises gives peace
When everything shakes, His Word remains firm.
Biblical Example: Caleb held on to God’s promise and entered the promised land at 85 (Joshua 14:10-12).
CONCLUSION:
To consider God is to rise above the noise and focus on the eternal. It is to silence the lies of the enemy with the truth of God’s Word. When we consider His greatness, faithfulness, sacrifice, timing, and promises, we are strengthened to endure, empowered to overcome, and inspired to keep going.
Let us take our eyes off the storm and fix them on the One who calms the storm. Let us remember who God is, what He has done, and what He is yet to do. When we consider God, we will not faint or be weary—we will soar like eagles.
