Summary: God is ready to do wonders, but He won’t do it through vessels that are polluted or distracted. Joshua’s call to Israel is the same call to us today: consecrate yourselves.

CONSECRATE YOURSELVES FOR TOMORROW

INTRODUCTION:

God is always ready to move, but He looks for people who are spiritually prepared. In Joshua 3:5, just before the Israelites crossed the Jordan River into the Promised Land, Joshua commanded the people to consecrate themselves, because God was about to do wonders among them. This divine instruction highlights the principle that preparation precedes manifestation.

To "consecrate" means to set oneself apart wholly unto God, to be cleansed, devoted, and ready. God desires vessels that are holy and usable. Before the breakthrough, before the miracle, before the wonder—comes consecration. Many believers desire the blessings of God, but few understand the sanctity required to carry those blessings.

This message challenges every believer to prepare spiritually for the mighty move of God. The level of our consecration determines the depth of His manifestation. Let us examine how we can consecrate ourselves for the “tomorrow” that God has prepared.

1. CONSECRATION INVOLVES SEPARATION UNTO GOD

a) Separate from the unclean (2 Corinthians 6:17):

God commands His people to come out from among ungodly associations and be separate.

b) Let go of idols and distractions (Exodus 20:3):

Anything that takes God's place in your heart must be surrendered.

c) Make a clean break from sinful patterns (Isaiah 1:16):

Consecration means turning away from all forms of defilement.

d) Live a life that is distinctly different (1 Peter 2:9):

God has called us to be a peculiar people, set apart for His glory.

Biblical Example: Moses separated himself on Mount Sinai, and there he encountered the glory of God (Exodus 24:15-18).

2. CONSECRATION REQUIRES INNER PURITY

a) Purify your heart (James 4:8):

A pure heart attracts divine attention and favour.

b) Renew your mind with the Word (Romans 12:2):

Transformation begins when the mind is saturated with truth.

c) Rid yourself of hidden sins (Psalm 139:23-24):

Ask God to reveal and remove every secret impurity.

d) Walk blamelessly before God (Genesis 17:1):

A consecrated life is one of consistent godly living.

Biblical Example: David continually sought a clean heart and right spirit to remain aligned with God (Psalm 51:10).

3. CONSECRATION POSITIONS YOU FOR DIVINE ENCOUNTERS

a) God reveals Himself to the consecrated (Exodus 19:10-11):

Before God came down on Mount Sinai, the people had to be sanctified.

b) Miracles follow preparation (Joshua 3:5):

Tomorrow’s wonders depend on today’s sanctification.

c) God speaks to holy vessels (1 Samuel 3:1-10):

Samuel heard God's voice as he ministered with a pure heart.

d) Consecration releases divine instructions (Acts 13:2):

While the apostles fasted and ministered to the Lord, the Holy Spirit gave direction.

Biblical Example: Cornelius consecrated himself through prayer and fasting, and God sent Peter with a divine message (Acts 10:30-33).

4. CONSECRATION IS A DAILY COMMITMENT

a) Present your body daily as a living sacrifice (Romans 12:1):

True consecration is not occasional—it’s a lifestyle.

b) Die to self and flesh (Galatians 2:20):

Living for Christ means crucifying selfish desires.

c) Maintain a life of constant fellowship with God (John 15:4):

Abiding in Him fuels a consecrated life.

d) Stay sensitive to the Holy Spirit (Ephesians 4:30):

Don’t grieve the Spirit—He is your guide and strength.

Biblical Example: Daniel maintained a consecrated lifestyle daily, even in Babylon, and God distinguished him (Daniel 6:10).

CONCLUSION:

God is ready to do wonders, but He won’t do it through vessels that are polluted or distracted. Joshua’s call to Israel is the same call to us today: consecrate yourselves. If you want to see God's power tomorrow, you must prepare today. Consecration is not a religious act—it is a spiritual alignment.

Let us strip away every weight, break free from every impurity, and surrender completely to God. As we consecrate ourselves, we position our lives for divine encounters, miracles, and the fulfilment of destiny. Tomorrow belongs to the prepared.
