CONFESSION IS GOOD FOR THE SOUL
PH 2 VS 5-11
Philippians 2:5-11 (NKJV)
5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus,
6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God,
7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men.
8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.
9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name,
10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth,
11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
CONFESS: TO OWN OR ADMIT AS TRUE
1. WE NEED TO CONFESS WHO JESUS IS: HE IS KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS!! HE IS SAVIOR, HE IS WONDERFUL, COUNSELOR, MIGHTY GOD, PRINCE OF PEACE. HE HELP TO THE HELPLESS, FRIEND TO THE FRIENDLESS, STRENGTH TO THE WEARY. HE IS HOPE TO THE HOPELESS, PHYSICIAN TO THE SICK, HE IS FOOD TO THE HUNGRY, LIVING WATER TO THE THIRSTY AND LOVER OF OUR SOUL--- THIS IS HE WHO THE PROPHETS IN THE OLD TESTAMENT SPOKE OF- THE ROCK, THE MIGHTY ONE, THE STRONG TOWER, THE SHIELD AND BUCKLER.. THIS IS JESUS!!
Revelation 19:16 (NKJV)
16 And He has on His robe and on His thigh a name written: KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.
Matthew 1:21 (NKJV)
21 And she will bring forth a Son, and you shall call His name JESUS, for He will save His people from their sins."
Isaiah 9:6-7 (NKJV)
6 For unto us a Child is born, Unto us a Son is given; And the government will be upon His shoulder. And His name will be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7 Of the increase of His government and peace There will be no end, Upon the throne of David and over His kingdom, To order it and establish it with judgment and justice From that time forward, even forever. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will perform this.
Psalm 91:1-4 (NKJV)
1 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of the LORD, "He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust."
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler And from the perilous pestilence.
4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler.
Psalm 61:1-4 (NKJV)
1 Hear my cry, O God; Attend to my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth I will cry to You, When my heart is overwhelmed; Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For You have been a shelter for me, A strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the shelter of Your wings. Selah
2. WE NEED TO CONFESS WHO WE ARE: WE ARE WEAK, NEEDY CREATURES IN NEED OF A SAVIOR- BUT WE ARE ALSO SAVED, CHILDREN OF THE KING, WE ARE MORE THAN CONQUERERS, WE ARE KINGS, QUEENS, PRIESTS IN THE KINGDOM OF THE LIVING GOD!! WE ARE HEIRS AND JOINT HEIRS WITH JESUS AND ONE DAY WILL RULE AND REIGN WITH HIM FOREVER MORE!! WHILE WE ARE SINNERS, WE ARE FORGIVEN. WHILE WE ARE WEEK, WE CAN DO ALL THINGS THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS US, WHILE WE DON’T KNOW OUR WAY, WE HAVE THE ANCHOR OF THE SOUL ON BOARD WITH US THAT WILL STEADY THE SHIP WHEN IT COMES INTO CONTACT WITH TURBULENT WATERS. WE ARE A PEOPLE OF FAITH, WE TRUST IN CHRIST TO HANDLE OUR EVERY NEED, WHETHER IT BE SPIRITUAL, PHYSICAL, EMOTIONAL, MENTAL- WE NEED TO CONFESS THAT OUR GOD IS ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF IT ALL, AND LEAVE IT WITH HIM TO TAKE CARE OF. WHILE WE MAY BE SHEEP, WE HAVE THE GOOD SHEPHERD TAKING CARE OF THE FLOCK, LEADING US TO THE STILL WATERS AND GREEN PASTURES. WE ARE THE CHURCH TRIUMPHANT!!

23 for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,
