CONFESS AND RECEIVE LIBERTY
TEXT : 2 CORINTHIANS 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom.
Liberty is the condition of being free from imprisonment, slavery or forced labor. It is also the condition of being free to act, believe or express oneself as one chooses. Liberation is a kingdom mandate given to us through Jesus Christ, "to set the captives free" - Isaiah 61:1-2, Luke 4:18.
We shall consider four nuggets to receiving our liberty in Christ Jesus:
1) HAVE A DREAM/VISION - Genesis 37:2-10
Vision is the sense or ability of sight. It is an ideal or a goal toward which one aspires. Joseph was bound, without vision, no direction for 17 years. Life meant nothing to him until he began to dream dreams.
A vision less person is gradually dying and he becomes a captive. Vision impacts knowledge and knowledge guarantees dominion. The mind is limitless unless bound by its carrier. There is the power of sight, it can be seen in a word, "foresight" or "foreknowledge" which is the ability to foresee or prepare wisely for the future.
2) DOTHAN EXPERIENCE IS NEEDFUL - Genesis 37:17-19
“They have moved on from here,” the man answered. “I heard them say, ‘Let’s go to Dothan.’” So Joseph went after his brothers and found them near Dothan. 18 But they saw him in the distance, and before he reached them, they plotted to kill him.
19 “Here comes that dreamer!” they said to each other.
When you refuse to excel in your Hebron, Egypt will become your next destination passing through Dothan. Joseph was relaxed in Hebron with his coat of many colours then God decided to put him on a test. Sometimes in Egypt we become the best of us. Staying in a comfort zone for too long could be deceptive.
We need heat , betrayal, jealousy and a times to be sold out for the best in us to come out. The food we eat go through the fire before we eat them. Even Jesus Christ couldn't receive the glory that awaits Him until he found two guys with these special qualities; Peter to deny Him and Judas Iscariot to betray Him.
The coat of many colours was just a symbol of purpose, it wasn't the real blessing. It was taken away from him but his God was not taken away from him and the faithful God saw him through. I see God taken you out from that pit to the palace... Alleluia!
3) ENGAGE THE CALL OF FAITH - Romans 8:19 For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.
Romans 4:17 As it is written: “I have made you a father of many nations.” He is our father in the sight of God, in whom he believed—the God who gives life to the dead and calls into being things that were not..
After God's creation, nothing for man is in existence until man calls them to manifest or come into being. Call those good things in your life to manifest and don't stop until they manifest.
Creation seen and unseen await our calling. They have ears and what you decree authorizes them to manifest. The time has come for us to call for our blessings, promotion, children, healing, wealth, accommodation, cars etc. Give them a faith call and see them come to pass in your life. Remember that we must forcefully take our territories and possessions, Matthew 11:12 From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subjected to violence, and violent people have been raiding it.
4) ENCOUNTER CHRIST AND ABIDE IN HIM - 2 Corinthians 3:17-18
Now the Lord is the Spirit, and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is freedom. 18 And we all, who with unveiled faces contemplate the Lord’s glory, are being transformed into his image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit.
John 1:17 - For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.
The law came through Moses and Grace came through Jesus Christ. And simply Christ is the God revealed, the God we can see or touch. "Emmanuel". We can also see that the law gives death but Christ gives abundant life through grace. In Exodus 33:20-23 "But,” he said, “you cannot see my face, for no one may see me and live.”
21 Then the Lord said, “There is a place near me where you may stand on a rock. 22 When my glory passes by, I will put you in a cleft in the rock and cover you with my hand until I have passed by. 23 Then I will remove my hand and you will see my back; but my face must not be seen.”
