Heb 4:16

Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.

GET RID OF SIN

“If I regard wickedness in my heart, the Lord will not hear.” Psalm 66:18

“Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; neither is His ear so dull that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God.” Isaiah 59:1-2

BE TRANSPARENT WITH GOD AND EACH OTHER

“Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much.” James 5:16

An honest prayer will receive healing and accomplish much.

LIVE A RIGHTEOUS LIFE

“For the eyes of the Lord are upon the righteous, and His ears attend to their prayer, but the face of the Lord is against those who do evil.” I Peter 3:12

OBEY GOD!

“ Beloved, if our heart does not condemn us, we have confidence before God; and whatever we ask we receive from Him, because we keep His commandments and so the things that are pleasing in His sight.” I John 3:21-22

ABIDE IN CHRIST

“ If you abide in Me and My words abide in you, ask whatever you wish and it shall be done for you.” John 15:7

To abide in Christ means that I confess to Him.

HAVE FAITH

“ Jesus said…all things are possible to him who believes.” Mark 9:23

“And without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.” Hebrews 11:6

We must believe:

• In God Himself

• His ability and willingness to meet out need!

“I, the Lord, am your God, who brought you up from the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide and I will fill it.” Psalm 81:10

RIGHT MOTIVES

“You ask and do not receive, because you ask with the wrong motives.” James 4:3

“…but the Lord said to Samuel, ‘Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but God looks at the heart.” I Samuel 16:7

PRAY ACCORDING TO GOD’S WILL

“And this is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from him.”

I John 5:14-15

“And in the same way the Spirit also helps our weakness; for we do not know how to pray as we should, but the Spirit Himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words; and He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the spirit is because He intercedes for the saints according to the will of God.” Romans 8:26-27

DON’T GIVE UP!

“Ask, and it shall be given to you; and you shall find, knock, and it shall be opened to you. For every one who asks received, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it shall be opened.”

Matthew 7:7-8

• You will get what you ask for

• God will change your prayer

REMOVE ALL IDOLS FROM YOUR LIFE

“Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their hearts, and have put right before their faces the stumbling blocks of iniquity. Should I be consulted by them all? Ezekiel

Idol: anything that has presence or priority before God

RIGHT RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN HUSBAND & WIFE

“ You husbands likewise, live with your wives in an understanding way, as with a weaker vessel, since she is a woman; and grant her honor as a fellow-heir of the grace of life, so that your prayers may not be hindered.” I Peter 3:7

BE SPECIFIC

• “And whatever you ask in My name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”

• John 14:13
