INTRODUCTION

Times and seasons are not accidental; they are divinely structured by God. While God remains the ultimate controller of seasons, Scripture reveals that believers have a responsibility to discern, align with, and prophetically command their seasons through faith, prayer, and obedience. The year 2026 is not meant to happen to you; it is a year you must intentionally engage.

Job 38:12-13 reveals that God expects authority and intentionality in how days and seasons are handled. Although God questioned Job to reveal His sovereignty, the scripture also unveils a spiritual principle: mornings, days, and seasons can be commanded to produce specific outcomes. A believer who understands this truth does not live at the mercy of time or chance.

This message is designed to equip you to take spiritual responsibility over the year 2026. You will learn how to align with God’s timing, escape satanic interruptions, and prophetically enforce God’s agenda so that every season of the year answers to divine purpose and produces testimonies.

1. GOD IS THE AUTHOR OF TIMES AND SEASONS

God alone designs times and seasons, yet He invites His people to walk in understanding and alignment.

a) GOD ORDAINS EVERY SEASON WITH PURPOSE (Ecclesiastes 3:1). Nothing in your life or in 2026 is random; every season carries divine intention that must be discerned and maximised.

b) SEASONS CHANGE BY DIVINE AUTHORITY (Daniel 2:21). God removes and establishes seasons, meaning stagnation is not your portion when God is involved.

c) TIME IS IN GOD’S HANDS (Psalm 31:15). When you commit your year to God, He governs outcomes, timings, and manifestations.

d) IGNORANCE OF SEASONS LEADS TO LOSS (Hosea 4:6). Lack of spiritual understanding can cause a believer to miss divine opportunities embedded in a season.

Biblical Example: The sons of Issachar understood the times and seasons of Israel and guided the nation wisely (1 Chronicles 12:32).

2. BELIEVERS ARE CALLED TO DISCERN TIMES AND SEASONS

Discernment empowers believers to act accurately within God’s timetable.

a) SPIRITUAL DISCERNMENT PREVENTS WASTED SEASONS (Ecclesiastes 3:7). Knowing when to act, wait, speak, or refrain protects destiny.

b) DISCERNMENT SEPARATES OPPORTUNITY FROM DISTRACTION (Luke 19:44). Many miss visitation because they fail to recognise God’s timing.

c) WISDOM IS REQUIRED TO NAVIGATE SEASONS (James 1:5). Divine wisdom enables correct decisions in complex moments.

d) DISCERNMENT HELPS YOU PREPARE AHEAD (Matthew 25:10). Preparation ensures that opportunities are not missed when seasons shift.

Biblical Example: Joseph discerned the season of abundance and famine and prepared Egypt ahead of time, preserving nations and destinies (Genesis 41:28-36).

3. COMMANDING THE YEAR THROUGH FAITH AND DECLARATIONS

Spoken faith aligned with God’s Word releases authority over time.

a) WORDS SHAPE SEASONS (Proverbs 18:21). What you declare consistently influences how your year unfolds.

b) FAITH GIVES VOICE TO GOD’S PROMISES (Mark 11:23). Faith-filled declarations enforce heaven’s verdict on earthly timelines.

c) PROPHETIC DECLARATIONS DISRUPT EVIL SCHEDULES (Job 22:28). Darkness retreats when divine authority is released through the spoken word.

d) CONSISTENT PRAYER ESTABLISHES DIVINE ORDER (1 Thessalonians 5:17). Prayer sustains spiritual authority throughout the year.

Biblical Example: Ezekiel prophesied to dry bones as commanded by God, and a dead season turned into life and restoration (Ezekiel 37:1-10).

4. ESCAPING THE TRAP OF TIME AND CHANCE

Not every outcome is God’s will; vigilance is required.

a) TIME AND CHANCE AFFECT THE UNPREPARED (Ecclesiastes 9:11). Those who live carelessly become victims of unexpected disruptions.

b) SPIRITUAL ALERTNESS PROTECTS DESTINY (Matthew 26:41). Watchfulness keeps believers ahead of satanic timing.

c) DIVINE DIRECTION OVERRIDES UNTIMELY EVENTS (Psalm 37:23). God orders the steps of those who trust Him.

d) ALIGNMENT WITH GOD PREVENTS PREMATURE ENDINGS (Isaiah 46:10). God’s counsel ensures longevity and fulfilment.

Biblical Example: Noah escaped destruction because he discerned the season and obeyed divine instruction ahead of time (Genesis 6:13-22).

5. STEPPING INTO NEW SEASONS ORDAINED BY GOD

God has already prepared new dimensions for the year 2026.

a) GOD ANNOUNCES NEW SEASONS AHEAD OF TIME (Isaiah 43:18-19). God is doing a new thing, but it requires awareness and alignment.

b) OLD SEASONS MUST BE RELEASED (Philippians 3:13). You cannot enter a new season while holding onto the old.

c) OBEDIENCE UNLOCKS TRANSITION (Deuteronomy 28:1). New seasons respond to prompt and complete obedience.

d) FAITH POSITIONS YOU FOR MANIFESTATION (Hebrews 11:6). Expectation prepares the heart to receive divine realities.

Biblical Example: Israel crossed the Jordan into a new season because they followed God’s instruction precisely (Joshua 3:1-17).
