COMING TO GOD

Hebrews 11:6

INTRO: We talk a good line. We say that we are pleasing God. We say that we have the faith we are supposed to have. But do we really have that much faith?

The scripture that we just read says that we must have faith to please Him. Are we really pleasing him today?

I. THE DUTY.

A. Includes acceptable approach to God in any way.

B. Includes an approach to God in prayer.

C. Includes an approach to God in service.

II. THE DISCHARGE OF THIS DUTY.

A. Belief in the existence of God.

B. Meditating upon God daily.

C. The certainty of God’s favor to all who diligently seek him.

III. THE CONSEQUENCES OF NOT FULFILLING THIS

DUTY.

A. Separation from God.

1. For the lost — eternal damnation.

2 For the saved — misery, unhappiness in this world, few re-

wards in the next.

B. Missed blessings.
