VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. What JESUS does to unbelievers: JESUS can save to the uttermost

"Therefore He is able also to save to the uttermost (completely, perfectly, finally, and for all time and eternity) those who come to God through Him,"

JESUS does this for the unbelievers.

Hebrews 2:18 (Amplified Bible)

2:18 For because He Himself [in His humanity] has suffered in being tempted (tested and tried), He is able [immediately] to run to the cry of (assist, relieve) those who are being tempted and tested and tried [and who therefore are being exposed to suffering].

Hebrews 5:7 (Amplified Bible)

5:7 In the days of His flesh [Jesus] offered up definite, special petitions [for that which He not only wanted but needed] and supplications with strong crying and tears to Him Who was [always] able to save Him [out] from death, and He was heard because of His reverence toward God [His godly fear, His piety, in that He shrank from the horrors of separation from the bright presence of the Father].

Isaiah 45:22 (Amplified Bible)

45:22 Look to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other.

Without JESUS, there's no salvation.

Acts 4:12 (Amplified Bible)

4:12 And there is salvation in and through no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by and in which we must be saved.

Acts 4:12 (The Message)

4:12 Salvation comes no other way; no other name has been or will be given to us by which we can be saved, only this one."

John 14:6 (The Message)

14:6 Jesus said, "I am the Road, also the Truth, also the Life. No one gets to the Father apart from me.

B. What JESUS does to believers: JESUS lives to intercede for us.

"since He is always living to make petition to God and intercede with Him and intervene for them"

JESUS does this for believers.

1. JESUS always lives to make petitition to GOD

1 John 2:1-2 (The Message)

2:1 I write this, dear children, to guide you out of sin. But if anyone does sin, we have a Priest-Friend in the presence of the Father: Jesus Christ, righteous Jesus.

2:2 When he served as a sacrifice for our sins, he solved the sin problem for good—not only ours, but the whole world's.

2. JESUS intercedes with us

Romans 8:3-4 (Amplified Bible)

8:3 For God has done what the Law could not do, [its power] being weakened by the flesh [the entire nature of man without the Holy Spirit]. Sending His own Son in the guise of sinful flesh and as an offering for sin, [God] condemned sin in the flesh [subdued, overcame, deprived it of its power over all who accept that sacrifice],

8:4 So that the righteous and just requirement of the Law might be fully met in us who live and move not in the ways of the flesh but in the ways of the Spirit [our lives governed not by the standards and according to the dictates of the flesh, but controlled by the Holy Spirit].

John 16:23-24 (Amplified Bible)

16:23 And when that time comes, you will ask nothing of Me [you will need to ask Me no questions]. I assure you, most solemnly I tell you, that My Father will grant you whatever you ask in My Name [as presenting all that I AM].

16:24 Up to this time you have not asked a [single] thing in My Name [as presenting all that I AM]; but now ask and keep on asking and you will receive, so that your joy (gladness, delight) may be full and complete.
