INTRODUCTION:
In our generation, the involvement of youths in cultism, occult practices, and secret societies is on the rise. These groups promise false power, protection, and prosperity, yet they lead their members into bondage, fear, and spiritual destruction. Many young people are lured into these dark paths due to peer pressure, ignorance, or a desire for influence and relevance.
Scripture strongly condemns all forms of witchcraft, sorcery, divination, and secret alliances with demonic powers. God desires that His people be separated from such defilement and live in the light. The involvement in cults and occultism is not just a social deviation—it is a direct spiritual rebellion against God.
This message aims to expose the dangers of cultism and occultism, offer biblical guidance, and proclaim the power of God to deliver, restore, and establish young people on the path of righteousness and purpose.
1. CULTISM AND OCCULTISM ARE ABOMINATIONS TO GOD
These practices are spiritually dangerous and detestable in the sight of God.
a) God Forbids Occult Practices (Deuteronomy 18:10-12)
Sorcery, witchcraft, necromancy, and divination are abominations to the Lord.
b) Occult Practices Are Inspired by Demons (1 Timothy 4:1)
Such doctrines come from deceptive spirits, not from God.
c) Involvement Brings Spiritual Defilement (Leviticus 19:31)
Those who consult mediums and familiar spirits defile themselves.
d) Secret Societies Thrive on Darkness and Deception (Ephesians 5:11)
God commands believers to expose the works of darkness, not join them.
Biblical Example: King Saul sought a medium when God refused to answer him, leading to his downfall and death (1 Samuel 28:7-20).
2. SATAN TARGETS YOUTHS TO DESTROY THEIR DESTINIES
The devil uses cultism to hijack the futures of young people.
a) The Devil Roams to Devour the Vulnerable (1 Peter 5:8)
He looks for careless, curious youths to manipulate and possess.
b) Cultism Offers False Power and Belonging (Proverbs 14:12)
There is a way that seems right to a man but ends in destruction.
c) Secret Covenants Bring Lifelong Bondage (Isaiah 28:15-18)
Ungodly covenants lead to oppression, fear, and curses.
d) The Enemy Uses Music, Media, and Peers to Recruit (Psalm 1:1)
Many are enticed through ungodly company and satanic entertainment.
Biblical Example: Herodias’ daughter was used by her mother to fulfil a wicked plan, leading to the beheading of John the Baptist (Mark 6:22–28).
3. GOD’S PEOPLE MUST SEPARATE FROM ALL FORMS OF DARKNESS
There must be a clear line between the righteous and the wicked.
a) Come Out from Among Them (2 Corinthians 6:14-17)
Light and darkness cannot dwell together—separation is required.
b) Do Not Consult the Dead or Familiar Spirits (Isaiah 8:19)
God is our only source of direction—not spiritism or rituals.
c) Flee Every Appearance of Evil (1 Thessalonians 5:22)
Don’t flirt with what God forbids; avoid it entirely.
d) Refuse Initiation or Pressure from Peers (Proverbs 1:10)
If sinners entice you, do not consent!
Biblical Example: Joseph fled from Potiphar’s wife and temptation, preserving his destiny (Genesis 39:7-12).
4. THE POWER OF GOD CAN DELIVER FROM CULTISM AND OCCULTISM
No bondage is too strong for God to break.
a) Jesus Came to Destroy the Works of the Devil (1 John 3:8)
All satanic altars and yokes can be destroyed by His power.
b) Deliverance Begins with Confession and Repentance (Acts 19:18-20)
Those who practised magic burned their books and turned to Christ.
c) The Blood of Jesus Cancels Every Evil Covenant (Colossians 2:14-15)
Every written ordinance against you can be wiped away.
d) God Gives a New Identity and Purpose (2 Corinthians 5:17)
You can become a new creation, free and full of destiny.
Biblical Example: The demoniac of Gadara was delivered, clothed, and in his right mind after an encounter with Jesus (Mark 5:1-15).
CONCLUSION:
The rise of cultism and occult practices among youths is a serious spiritual crisis that demands urgent intervention through the Word of God and the power of the Holy Spirit. Satan seeks to hijack the destinies of young men and women, but God is still in the business of saving, delivering, and restoring.
No one is too far gone for God to save. If you are involved or entangled in any cult, secret society, or ritual, Jesus is calling you today to repentance and freedom. Let your light shine. Say no to darkness. Choose life and escape the snare of the enemy.
PRAYER POINTS:
1. Father, expose and destroy every work of darkness among our youths.
2. Lord, deliver every young person entangled in cultism or occult practices.
3. I break every evil covenant and initiation by the blood of Jesus.
