Mount Everest - Camp 4 – Valley of Silence!

2 Corinthians 4:8” We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not despairing; 9 persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; 10 always carrying about in the body the dying of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our body.”

I had packed our dinner and was one hundred percent sure that I would be able to get at least a RAC ticket to travel to my mom in Bangalore for vacation, we had just finished a week long strenuous meeting; however, there awaited a rude shock when the train was full and we could not board the train. We quietly returned home, on the way, God spoke to me in the car to fast during the holidays and pray, since my children had already left the previous day, I was alone with my husband and we decided to fast and pray. It was no cool decision, I had to surrender all the desires to be with my mom and submit to spend time with my heavenly Dad. This is called ‘Camp 4- Valley of silence!’ Frivolous people who salsa around Pitza huts, will never understand what I am talking about! There was a purpose for our fasting though, God gave a new ministry that particular year, hence we had to set aside everything and fast.!

I am going to write something serious for people who would want to go to the higher level and to the next dimension; you can’t do this sitting with crows and chickens and talking about reality shows and guffawing on some silly stuff. You need humor in life, alright, but keep your life balanced so that your whole life does not turn into one comedy show. Caveat! If you have started a new business, new ministry, new project, new church, then you cannot afford to be like your neighbor who is just interested about the next movie release, are you listening? Stay separated and move with EAGLES who desire to fly high!

While climbing Mount Everest, there are several stages involved in the process, the base camp is full of chatter of journalists, media, family, friends and lot of activity, there is fun and expectation as you get to handle the latest tech gear; however, as you start the climb, slowly all the hullabulla vanishes and the atmosphere starts getting serious. People who were partying with you on the day you launched your ministry are not going to be with you when things start getting tough, slowly you get to understand the RESPONSIBILTY on your shoulders. Founders, Leaders and Builders cannot afford to live silly lives, get serious! Sachin Tendulkar would not be called the ‘god of cricket’ if he had not faithfully practiced everyday of his life – be it holiday or not. Ratan Tata would not be owning multi businesses and a brand name TATA, if he had been a play boy, he was serious, hardworking, efficacious, courageous, confident and consistent. Being CONSISTENT is important for success!

Coming back to Mount Everest, the stage before the final climb is called Camp 4 which is scary and silent. If they cross this camp then they get to see the peak of Everest if not they get to see……………..Not many venture to climb Mount Everest though, the few who do want to climb got to be serious and careful climbers. You got to do your homework properly! Are you listening? Did you know, there comes a time in your life, when you would have none to talk to because only you can carry the RESPONSIBILTY given to you by God.

Being a Founder and a Principal of Abide School, the free school run for the poor, don’t you ever think it is fun handling children who have drunken fathers and irresponsible mothers, the residue of curse on their family is still on the children, who are rebellious, dangerous, stubborn and unwilling to learn. Don’t expect immediate response for whatever you may be doing, sometimes it looks like ‘Camp 4 – valley of Silence’; however, a climber keeps moving despite the silence. Mount Everest is Beautiful – but the climb requires TENACITY, Yes, the climb up the mountain involves many stages though, finally only perseverance succeeds. Ephesians 6:18 ‘praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints..’

Reaching the end of the process is crucial for fulfillment of God’s promise in your life! Not that easy though, despite enormous hindrances and offers from the devil, you got to meditate His Word, and also called for is abundant perseverance. Not just little but abundant perseverance! Abundant perseverance! James 1:4”Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.”
