Emphasize the importance of staying in tune with God, obeying His quick revelations, and trusting in His deliverance.

Introduction

Good morning, beloved! Today, we’re diving into a lesson straight from the pages of 1 Samuel, a lesson about obeying those quick revelations from God, about His deliverance, and how staying in sync with Him can guide our steps. You see, in our walk with God, it’s pivotal to remain in tune, to hear His whispers, to sense His nudges, and to act promptly on those divine instructions.

As A.W. Tozer once said, “God is looking for people through whom He can do the impossible. What a pity we plan only the things we can do by ourselves.

Let's read from 1 Samuel 21:12-15 MSG,

When David realized that he had been recognized, he panicked, fearing the worst from Achish, king of Gath. So right there, while they were looking at him, he pretended to go crazy, pounding his head on the city gate and foaming at the mouth, spit dripping from his beard. Achish took one look at him and said to his servants, “Can’t you see he’s crazy? Why did you let him in here? Don’t you think I have enough crazy people to put up with as it is without adding another? Get him out of here!”” (MSG)

Let's pray:

Dear Heavenly Father, as we embark on this journey through Your Word today, we ask that You would open our hearts and our minds to receive Your wisdom and guidance. We are eager to learn, to grow, and to be tuned into Your divine frequency. Help us to recognize and obey your quick revelatory unctions, and to trust in Your deliverance. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Now, let's delve into what God has in store for us today. Buckle up, folks, it's going to be an exciting ride!

The Reward of Obeying Quick Revelatory Unctions

The first point we're exploring today is the reward of obeying quick revelatory unctions. This concept is deeply rooted in the belief that God communicates with us in various ways, often through quick revelations or unctions, nudges if you will, that are meant to guide us. These unctions can come in many forms - a sudden thought, a strong feeling, a scripture that jumps out at us, or even a word from a fellow believer. The key is to be in tune with God, to be sensitive to His voice, and to be willing to act promptly when we sense His leading.

The story of David in 1 Samuel 21: David, upon seeing King Achish, was filled with fear. But instead of succumbing to his fear, he acted on a quick revelation from God. He pretended to be crazy, an act that ultimately saved his life. This was not a premeditated plan, but a quick unction from God that David obeyed. The reward was his deliverance from a potentially deadly situation.

Being in sync with God: This story really underscores the importance of being open to His quick revelations and of being willing to act on them. The reward is not just deliverance from dangerous situations, but also guidance, wisdom, and a deeper relationship with God. When we obey these quick unctions, we are essentially saying, "God, I trust You. I trust that You know what's best for me. I trust that You will guide me in the right direction."

Not always easy: It requires faith, courage, and a willingness to step out of our comfort zones. It may mean doing something that seems crazy to the world, just like David did. It may mean going against conventional wisdom or popular opinion. But the reward is worth it. The reward is seeing God's hand at work, experiencing His deliverance, and growing in our faith and trust in Him.

More than personal benefits: It's also about being a vessel through which God can work. When we obey these quick revelations, we are allowing God to use us to accomplish His purposes. We are becoming part of His divine plan. And there's no greater reward than that.

The consequences of not obeying: When we ignore or dismiss these nudges from God, we miss out on opportunities to experience His power, His guidance, and His deliverance. We may find ourselves in situations that could have been avoided, or we may miss out on blessings that could have been ours. The cost of disobedience is high.
