A CHRISTIAN’S BUCKET LIST

(Getting Ready to Meet the Lord—Without Fear)

SCRIPTURE:

Isaiah 38:1 (KJV)

“In those days was Hezekiah sick unto death. And Isaiah the prophet the son of Amoz came unto him, and said unto him, Thus saith the Lord, Set thine house in order: for thou shalt die, and not live.”

PROLOGUE

What if God gave you that message today?

What would you do—right now—if you knew your time was almost up?

What conversations would you have?

What burdens would you lay down?

What holy decisions would you finally make?

ONE OF THESE DAYS, YOU WILL MEET THE LORD

Not as a distant concept, but as a living reality.

Not in fear, but in faith-

IF your house is in order.

YOUR BUCKET LIST:

This isn’t a list of regrets.

This is a list of readiness.

This is how we live like heaven is real,

Like eternity is near—

Because it is.

I. GETTING RIGHT WITH GOD

This is more than religion.

This is the rescue plan for your soul.

• Hear the story of Jesus—and let it pierce your heart

(Romans 10:17)

Hear how Heaven came down for you, and how the cross was not the end—but the beginning.

• Believe that Jesus is the Son of God, crucified and risen—for you

(John 3:16; Romans 10:9)

Not just a Savior of the world—your Savior. Your Redeemer. Your Hope.

• Turn from the life that leads to death—and run into the arms of grace

(Acts 2:38)

Repent. Not in shame—but in surrender. God’s mercy is deeper than your worst day.

• Confess with your mouth and with your life: “Jesus is my Lord”

(Romans 10:10)

Let your lips say what your heart knows—He alone is King.

• Be baptized into Christ—buried with Him, raised to new life

(Romans 6:3–4; Acts 2:38)

Wash off the past. Rise clean. Step into covenant with the One who conquered the grave.

• Walk with Him every day. Learn His voice. Follow His steps.

(John 8:31–32)

Salvation isn’t a moment—it’s a journey. A relationship. A daily surrender to truth.

• Join a Christ-centered church that teaches the Word and lives it

(Acts 2:41–42)

Don’t walk this road alone. The Church is your spiritual family.

• Take the Lord’s Supper regularly—remember the cost of your freedom

(1 Corinthians 11:23–26)

His body. His blood. His love, poured out—never forget it.

II. GETTING RIGHT WITH THE WORLD

Once peace with God is made, make peace everywhere else.

• Forgive those who hurt you—even if they never ask

(Matthew 6:14–15)

Mercy frees you more than them.

• Ask forgiveness where you’ve failed

(Matthew 5:23–24)

Don’t leave this life with words unspoken.

• Be a bridge, not a wall. Reconcile wherever you can.

(2 Corinthians 5:18–20)

Be an ambassador of peace.

• Pray without ceasing. Keep heaven in your conversation.

(1 Thessalonians 5:17)

God’s line is always open.

• Read the whole Bible—know the God who speaks through it (2 Timothy 3:16–17)

Don’t just visit the Word—live in it.

• Stay ready. Jesus is coming—suddenly, surely, gloriously.

(Matthew 24:44)

Let every sunrise find you faithful.

• Lead someone else to Christ. This is the greatest gift you can give.

(Matthew 28:19–20)

Heaven rejoices over even one soul. Be the reason.

• Make a will that honors God and blesses others.

(Proverbs 13:22)

Leave a legacy of love, not just things.

• Plan a funeral that preaches hope, not fear.

(Ecclesiastes 7:2)

Let your last sermon point people to Christ.

• Close the loop on life’s loose ends. Leave peace, not puzzles.

(Romans 13:8)

Die with your soul light, your conscience clear, and your affairs in order.

EPILOGUE

Is Your House in Order?

You don’t need a deathbed warning.

You need a life-on-fire calling.

Don’t wait until your strength is gone to start getting strong in the Lord.

Don’t wait until your final days to start living for eternity.

Jesus is calling now.

Not with wrath, but with welcome.

Not with fear, but with forgiveness.

Not with judgment, but with joy—if you’ll come.

He’s ready. Are you?

What’s on your Bucket List?
