CHRIST UPLIFTED HANDS

Luke 24:50And he led them out as far as to Bethany, and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.

The final farewell of Jesus as his feet left the ground on the top of Mt. Olive.

He lifted his hands and blessed the people. Many of these blessings are ours today if we would claim them.

(1) His accomplished program

Luke 24:44 And he said unto them, These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me.

(2) His Appointment as priest

Rev. 1:13And in the midst of the seven candlesticks one like unto the Son of man, clothed with a garment down to the foot, and girt about the paps with a golden girdle.

14His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire;

15And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters.

16And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.

17And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the first and the last:

18I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.

Hebrews 1:3Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high:

Exalted at the fathers right hand.

Eternal in final rank

(4)Total pardon in his hands

Luke 24:46And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behooved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:

47And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.

Sufficient to save the wicked

Strength to secure the weakest

Speaking to our soul by his word

(5) His assurance to provide

Luke 24:49And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Life Eternal salvation

Love Everlasting Saviour

Lift exciting in service

(6) His ascension and promise

Luke 24 :51And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he was parted from them, and carried up into heaven.

Love with divine compassion

Lifted with divine calculation

Left with divine commission

(7) His appearing for his people

John 14:3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
