VIII. MAIN BODY:

A. We have been made holy by CHRIST's obedience to GOD's will

"And in accordance with this will [of God], we have been made holy (consecrated and sanctified)"

Hebrews 10:10 (Contemporary English Version)

So we are made holy because Christ obeyed God and offered himself once for all.

The word "sanctified" is "hagiazo" in Greek meaning:

1. to render or acknowledge, or to be venerable or hallow

2. to separate from profane things and dedicate to God

3. to purify

Hebrews 2:11 (Amplified Bible)

2:11 For both He Who sanctifies [making men holy] and those who are sanctified all have one [Father]. For this reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren;

John 17:19 (Amplified Bible)

17:19 And so for their sake and on their behalf I sanctify (dedicate, consecrate) Myself, that they also may be sanctified (dedicated, consecrated, made holy) in the Truth.

1 Corinthians 1:30 (Amplified Bible)

1:30 But it is from Him that you have your life in Christ Jesus, Whom God made our Wisdom from God, [revealed to us a knowledge of the divine plan of salvation previously hidden, manifesting itself as] our Righteousness [thus making us upright and putting us in right standing with God], and our Consecration [making us pure and holy], and our Redemption [providing our ransom from eternal penalty for sin].

1 Corinthians 6:11 (Amplified Bible)

6:11 And such some of you were [once]. But you were washed clean (purified by a complete atonement for sin and made free from the guilt of sin), and you were consecrated (set apart, hallowed), and you were justified [pronounced righteous, by trusting] in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and in the [Holy] Spirit of our God.

We are not holy but been made holy, same as we are not good, no one's good, only GOD is good.

Matthew 19:16-17 (Amplified Bible)

19:16 And behold, there came a man up to Him, saying, Teacher, what excellent and perfectly and essentially good deed must I do to possess eternal life?

19:17 And He said to him, Why do you ask Me about the perfectly and essentially good? There is only One Who is good [perfectly and essentially]—God. If you would enter into the Life, you must continually keep the commandments.

Mark 10:17-18 (Amplified Bible)

10:17 And as He was setting out on His journey, a man ran up and knelt before Him and asked Him, Teacher, [You are essentially and perfectly morally] good, what must I do to inherit eternal life [that is, to partake of eternal salvation in the Messiah’s kingdom]?

10:18 And Jesus said to him, Why do you call Me [essentially and perfectly morally] good? There is no one [essentially and perfectly morally] good—except God alone.

B. CHRIST offered His body once and for all

"through the offering made once for all of the body of Jesus Christ (the Anointed One)"

Hebrews 10:12 (Amplified Bible)

10:12 Whereas this One [Christ], after He had offered a single sacrifice for our sins [that shall avail] for all time, sat down at the right hand of God,

Hebrews 10:14 (Amplified Bible)

10:14 For by a single offering He has forever completely cleansed and perfected those who are consecrated and made holy.

Hebrews 9:12 (Amplified Bible)

9:12 He went once for all into the [Holy of] Holies [of heaven], not by virtue of the blood of goats and calves [by which to make reconciliation between God and man], but His own blood, having found and secured a complete redemption (an everlasting release for us).
