By the help of the Holy Spirit, I would like to try and preach this message with this thought,” CHOSEN FOR PURPOSE”.
What have God chosen you to do for Him in His Kingdom? As a matter of fact, have you answered THE CALL and have you purposed in your heart to accept the CALL placed upon you? Have you been chosen for purpose?
In your finite mind, these questions have been lingering giving you some restless nights and wondering asking God why me? But God is saying to you, why not?
Remember, God is like Avon, is always calling. Patiently waiting on your answer, that answer to be set aside and CHOSEN FOR PURPOSE.
This great prophet Jeremiah was chosen for purpose. “Then the word of the Lord came unto me, saying, before I formed you in the belly, I knew you; and before you came forth out of the womb I satisfied (set aside) you and I ordained you a prophet to the nations.” Jeremiah 1:4. God set aside this great prophet for the purpose to become a great prophet for all the nations and so, even Jeremiah was CHOSEN FOR PURPOSE.
If God has purpose for me to be set aside then:
I.DOES GOD LOVES ME? The answer to that question is yes because the Word of God tell reminds us no matter who we are, what we are or what we have done, there is no human love comparable to divine love. God wants a relationship with you and He wants to forgive you. “I have loved you with an everlasting love for you...” Jeremiah 31. So, what does mean for me to know? It means that God loves you forever and forever. Another thing to know is that “God is love.” 1 John 4:16. It doesn’t matter how far you
run or try to run; God is there. Every breath you take, every move you make, every step you make, God is watching you.
II.GOD LOVES YOU AND HAS A PLAN FOR YOU. There are two Scriptures that comes to mind, John 3:16 and John 10:10 that settles it once and for all. “For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son that whosoever believes in Him shall not parish, but have everlasting life” John 3:16. “I came that they have life and have it abundantly” John 10:10 now that is a complete life full of purpose. But here is the problem:
III.THAT PEOPLE ARE SINFUL AND SEPRATEED FROM GOD. You and I, all of us, are sinful in nature; doing and saying all kinds of things. But there is something you should know what the Word of God declares, “All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” Romans 6:23. Think on this, the result of sin is death, spiritual separation from God as we read in the Scripture. Now, that I gotten your attention of the bad news, here is the good news—are you ready?
IV. GOD SENT HIS SON TO DIE FOR YOUR SINS. The good news is that Jesus died in our place so that we can have a relationship with God and then be with Him forever. “God demonstrates His own toward us, in that while we were yet sinners Christ died for us” Romans 5:8. That is NOT the end of the story,” Christ died for our sins...He was buried...He was raised on the third day, according to the Scriptures” 1 Corinthians 15 three and four. Jesus is the only way to God because Jesus said that, “I am the way, and the truth and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through me” John 14:6.
There is a purpose to being chosen by God. Chosen to be a vessel for Him to that living stone.
1 Peter 2:4-10 (GW) tells us:
You are coming to Christ, the living stone who was rejected by humans but was chosen as precious by God. 5 You come to him as living stones, a spiritual house that is being built into a holy priesthood. So, offer spiritual sacrifices that God accepts through Jesus Christ. 6 That is why Scripture says,
“I am laying a chosen and precious cornerstone in Zion,
and the person who believes in him
will never be ashamed.”
7 This honor belongs to those who believe. But to those who don’t believe:
“The stone that the builders rejected
has become the cornerstone,
8 a stone that people trip over,
a large rock that people find offensive.”
The people tripped over the word because they refused to believe it. Therefore, this is how they ended up.
9 However, you are chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, people who belong to God. You were chosen to tell about the excellent qualities of God, who called you out of darkness into his marvelous light. 10 Once you were not God’s people, but now you are. Once you were not shown mercy, but now you have been shown mercy.
