Summary: Choosing the right path is a brilliant move and an excellent display of one’s sound mind.

Our choices reflect our intelligence and reveal

our hearts. What we choose today affects our life in

the future. Our future will show what we have in mind

and heart today. It’s a simple and clear principle of

sowing and reaping. What we will reap in the future

will surely uncover what we sow today. As we ponder

these things, it warns us not to take the risk of

making questionable choices in life. Making decision

is sensitive and critical. We need the help of God.

It’s a wise move to consider the will of God in

making decision. We must submit our will to Him and

trust the Lord for our future. He can give the best of

everything for His children. On the other hand, it’s

so risky for us to follow the inclination of our

deceitful heart. We should not let our old man to have

a part or to control our mind in making decisions for

our future.

Our Heavenly Father wants us to have a well-lived

life for His honor and glory. As a father to his

children, God wants us to listen to His counsel and

obey Him with love. He knows the future and holds our

future. God wants us to become obedient to His words

and enjoy His abundant blessings as we serve Him and

wait for the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus

Christ.

Proverbs chapter 4 is a very relevant part of the

Scriptures where we can find great help on how to make

good and godly choices for our spiritual advancement.

God has a special plan for everyone this Year 2004. We

strongly believe that the only way we could fulfill

God’s blessed will is by hearing and obeying His Word

consistently in the fear of God. The best way to start

is to consider James 1:21, Wherefore lay aside all

filthiness and superfluity of naughtiness, and receive

with meekness the engrafted word, which is able to

save your souls.

(I) We Need Wisdom

Proverbs 4:1-11

-Father’s wisdom vs1-4

-The value of wisdom vs5-7

-The blessings of wisdom vs8-13

(II) Avoid The Path Of The Wicked

Proverbs 4:14-17, 19

-The way of evil men vs14-17

-The way of darkness v19

(III) Choose The Path Of The Just

Proverbs 4:11-14

-Prosperous path v12

-Bright path v18

May these lessons grow in us as we take the path of

the just and experience the abiding presence of the

Lord. Our spiritual growth and fruitfulness depend on

how we treasure and how we apply Bible principles in

our every day life. We should not also forget all the

warnings we have heard so that our true purpose of

life will not be derailed, but be continually

fulfilled as we walk in the path of righteousness.

Lastly, fear of God is the key to sound wisdom, and

right choice is a fruit of Spirit-filled mind.
