Summary: Passion for guns would destroy you! Passion for God would bless you! Choice is yours!

Passion for guns would destroy you! Passion for God would bless you! Choice is yours!

Luke 10:39 “And she had a sister called Mary, who also sat at Jesus' feet and heard His word.”

The Connecticut elementary school shooter Adam Lanza had learned to shoot from his gun-collecting mom, who had a passion for guns! I repeat passion for guns! The whole family would go together not to church but for target shooting. Her 20-year-old son Adam killed mother Nancy with one of her own guns before using them to murder 20 children at the elementary school where she once worked. Mom! Dad! I am speaking with you! What is your passion today? Do you want to put your kids in the best of schools, paying walloping amount as bribe – what else do you call the lakhs that is paid without receipt? Have the guts to put your foot down against such schools/colleges who are nothing but thieves and trust God than such demonic institutions who would make you ‘clever devils’ rather than godly kids. Are you listening? Such looting is down by schools run by CHRISTIAN ORGANISATIONS! Shame on them! What answer do we have for the world who look at Christians as ambassadors of Christ????

Today we have another serious toxic poison that is consuming the school and college kids and also the parents! What is that? Passion for dancing and item numbers! Beware! Look at the plethora of ‘dance competitions’ on TVs and the way parents rush their children for such stupid contests! Do you know that you are feeding the giants with your money for killing your own kids? The Chhattisgarh government admitted Thursday that it paid a whopping sum of Rs.1.40 crore to Bollywood actress Kareena Kapoor for her performance last month at the state's anniversary function. Crores were paid for Kareena’s 8 minutes performance!

We have passion for many things except for the Lord! No wonder we are losing our kids to the devil! They are running behind SRK, Khans and the item dancers rather than behind the STAR JESUS CHRIST who gave HIS LIFE FOR THEM! Youth Leaders and pastors, please plan your Christmas celebrations with Jesus as the main theme rather than Santa Claus.

If you neglect the Feet of the Lord, you may have to fall at the feet of others or worst still get under their feet. Beware! Such would be the plight of all who ignore the lovely feet of the Lord. Alas, there are many who have not comprehended the great harvest we reap at His Feet!

I write this devotion in the quietness of the night, after spending time reading His Word and praising Him. It is during this divine moment, after being saturated and marinated in His presence, I sat down to type this devotion. Many authors say their writing spring from experience, but my writing spring from His Presence! Thoughts gush out like from a fountain! Get ready to receive a fresh splash of His Presence this morning!

Oh, how adoringly Jesus looked at the face of Mary and said: “Mary has chosen that good part, which will not be taken away from her!" Observe the words of Jesus closely today; Jesus said, ‘Mary has chosen’, which meant that we need to decide to make a choice in our life. The good decisions we make in our life determine the success of our life. Do you hear me this morning? Deuteronomy 1:26 says, “Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse.” The words are crystal clear! Good decisions are in your hands!

Friends, today you can decide to sleep till 8 am or make a tough decision to wake up at 5 am and pray. Choice is yours! You can decide to bribe, cheat and lie to prosper in life or wait for His timing to lift you up. You can decide never to borrow, never to go in for those sleazy EMI options and get trapped by the devil, but instead live a simple, content life or you can take 1000 loans and live a phony life - neck-deep in debts. Choice is yours! You can decide to marry a good Christian partner and live a godly life or carelessly get yoked with unbelievers. Beware, what you sow is what you reap! Joshua challenges the Israelites by stating: ”Choose you this day whom ye will serve; whether the gods which your fathers served that were on the other side of the flood, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land ye dwell: but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.” (Joshua 24:15) Are you listening? What would be your decision today? God or the world?

While Martha was distracted with a whole lot of things running in her mind, Mary chose to sit at His feet. Not that Mary was ducking work, instead Mary had the ‘full assurance’ that Jesus would take care of the situation; she knew He could even supernaturally supply a rich ‘high tea’ to the people who sat to hear His Word that day. Is anything too hard for Him? I am speaking to working moms, busy dads and to all who are hurrying and scurrying every day! When you spend time at His feet and leave for work, let me assure you, He is able to take full control of your personal as well as official life. Are you there? I trained myself to spend one hour in His presence before leaving for work, back while I was working as an Executive Secretary for a multinational bank. As a young mother of an infant and an eight year old daughter then, I still managed to give my Master the first fruits of the day. Today I stand richly and immensely blessed!
