Plan for: Thanksgiving | Advent | Christmas
Change, though sometimes uncomfortable, is a part of God's plan for our growth and preparation for the blessings He has in store for us.
Good morning, family! We all know that change is one of those inevitable things in life, right? We see it in the changing seasons, in the growth of a child, and even in our own lives as we age. Yet, sometimes, change can be a bit scary. It can be uncomfortable, uncertain, and perhaps even unwelcome. But you know what? God has a plan. He's got this.
God's will for change is an idea that can be seen throughout the Bible, from the Old Testament to the New Testament, and is a fundamental part of our understanding of God's plan for our lives.
It’s a natural part of God's creation: When we look at the world around us, we see that change is a constant. The seasons change, plants grow, animals age, and even the earth itself is constantly shifting and evolving. This is a reflection of God's will for change. He created a world that is dynamic and ever-changing, not static and unchanging. Change is not something to be feared or resisted, but rather something to be embraced as part of God's divine plan.
It’s a tool for growth and transformation: Throughout the Bible, we see countless examples of individuals who were transformed through their experiences and trials. Consider the story of Moses, who went from being a prince in Egypt to a shepherd in Midian, and then to the leader of the Israelites. Or the story of Paul, who went from persecuting Christians to being one of the most influential apostles in the early church. These stories remind us that change is not just about external circumstances, but also about internal transformation. It's about becoming the people that God wants us to be.
It’s preparing us for the future: In Jeremiah 29:11, God says, "For I know the plans I have for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." This verse reminds us that God has a plan for our lives, and that plan often involves change. It's about preparing us for the blessings that He has in store for us, and helping us to grow and mature so that we can handle those blessings when they come.
It’s bringing us closer to Him: In times of change, we often find ourselves turning to God for guidance and support. We seek His wisdom, His comfort, and His peace. And in doing so, we draw closer to Him. We deepen our relationship with Him and grow in our faith. This is perhaps the most beautiful aspect of God's will for change - that it brings us closer to our Creator and deepens our love for Him.
