Rejoice, great glory and celebration or "alats" in Hebrew meaning:
1. to jump for joy
2. exult
3. be joyful, rejoice, triumph
Proverbs 28:28 (Amplified Bible)
28:28 When the wicked rise [to power], men hide themselves; but when they perish, the [consistently] righteous increase and become many.
Proverbs 28:12 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
28:12 When the godly succeed, everyone is glad. When the wicked take charge, people go into hiding.
Proverbs 11:10 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
11:10 The whole city celebrates when the godly succeed; they shout for joy when the wicked die.
One example is JESUS when he started to preach and have followers, people glory and celebrate, because JESUS is righteous. Our righteousness came from JESUS's righteousness not our own.
Luke 19:37-38 (New Living Translation, Second Edition)
19:37 When they reached the place where the road started down the Mount of Olives, all of his followers began to shout and sing as they walked along, praising God for all the wonderful miracles they had seen.
19:38 “Blessings on the King who comes in the name of the Lord! Peace in heaven, and glory in highest heaven!”
B. When wicked are in power, it's time to hide
"but when the wicked rise [to power], men hide themselves."
Righteous men are put to death if wicked rise to power, have authority and much worse if they are seated in political position, the usual practical response is to hide.
Hebrews 11:37-38 (Amplified Bible)
11:37 They were stoned to death; they were lured with tempting offers [to renounce their faith]; they were sawn asunder; they were slaughtered by the sword; [while they were alive] they had to go about wrapped in the skins of sheep and goats, utterly destitute, oppressed, cruelly treated—
11:38 [Men] of whom the world was not worthy—roaming over the desolate places and the mountains, and [living] in caves and caverns and holes of the earth.
Obadiah followed the WORD and hid the prophets of the LORD in a cave so they will not be killed. We are instructed by the WORD to hide because if not we will be killed. We have much more good reason to stay alive because we need to glorify GOD here on earth.
1 Kings 18:13 (Amplified Bible)
18:13 Was it not told my lord what I did when Jezebel slew the prophets of the Lord, how I hid a hundred men of the Lord’s prophets by fifties in a cave and fed them with bread and water?
Psalms 118:17 (Amplified Bible)
118:17 I shall not die but live, and shall declare the works and recount the illustrious acts of the Lord.
You will know if a country has a righteous ruler if it's economic status is ok, then the one who sits in power or the highest position in the land - the President or the minister is a righteous person.
Ecclesiastes 10:6 (Amplified Bible)
10:6 Folly is set in great dignity and in high places, and the rich sit in low places.
Ecclesiastes 10:16 (Amplified Bible)
10:16 Woe to you, O land, when your king is a child or a servant and when your officials feast in the morning!
IX. CONCLUSION:
Psalms 31:20 (Amplified Bible)
31:20 In the secret place of Your presence You hide them from the plots of men; You keep them secretly in Your pavilion from the strife of tongues.
Praise, worship and thank You very much, LORD JESUS, we celebrate in the LORD JESUS CHRIST whoever is seated in power and we are hidden in Your Presence.
