Summary: Have you ever went to bed thinking about about all the things you have to do the next day or maybe something you have to do that you dread? There again those kind of things can keep us from hearing God's voice!

Cause Me Sept. 6, 2020

Psalm 143:8-Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning,

For in You do I trust;

Before refrigerators, people used icehouses to preserve their food. Icehouses had thick walls, no windows and a tightly fitted door. In winter, when streams and lakes were frozen, large blocks of ice were cut, hauled to the icehouses and covered with sawdust. Often the ice would last well into the summer.

One man lost a valuable watch while working in an icehouse. He searched diligently for it, carefully raking through the sawdust, but didn't find it. His fellow workers also looked, but their efforts, too, proved futile. A small boy who heard about the fruitless search slipped into the icehouse during the noon hour and soon emerged with the watch.

Amazed, the men asked him how he found it.

"I closed the door," the boy replied, "lay down in the sawdust, and kept very still. Soon I heard the watch ticking."

Hear-If we are not careful we can completely ignore the voice of God!

Or we can be bombarded by the noise of the world and not hear the voice of God!

Your Lovingkindness In The Morning-Have you ever went to bed thinking about about all the things you have to do the next day or maybe something you  have to do that you dread?

There again those kind of things can keep us from hearing God's voice!

I believe what we need to remember, What David wanted God to do was remind him of all of God's lovingkindness before he faced his day, before he had to face the troubles of the day!

Verse 8-Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.

"E. Stanley Jones tells of a missionary who got lost in an African jungle, nothing around him but bush and a few cleared places. He found a native hut and asked the native if he could get him out. The native said he could.

'All right,'  said the missionary, 'show me the way.'

The native said, 'WALK, ' so they WALKed and hacked their way through unmarked jungle for more than an hour.

The missionary got worried.  'Are you quite sure this is the way?  Where is the path?'

The native said, 'In this place there is no path. I am the path.'"

We are bombarded with all kinds of choices we make eveyday, even small ones can change our life drastically (Leaving late to work going to fast and having wreak)  so we need God's guidance in every decision!

Joseph’s life took many twists and turns, but had an ultimate destination that

accomplished the perfect plan of God. His brothers sold him into slavery in

Egypt. He was falsely accused and thrown into prison. But ultimately, he was

made a ruler in Egypt where he saved his family from starvation in Canaan. He

told his brothers, “You meant evil against me; but God meant it for good.

. . to save many people alive.” If your life is flowing “west”

instead of “south” at the moment, remember that God is in charge of

the ultimate direction and destination.

The turns life takes are not as important as where it begins and where it ends.

9-Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies;

In You I take shelter.

Enemies-A reporter was interviewing an old man on his 100th birthday. "What are you most proud of?" he asked.

"Well, " said the man, "I don't have an enemy in the world."

"What a beautiful thought! How inspirational!" said the reporter.

"Yep," added the centenarian, "outlived every last one of them."

Shelter-During an earthquake, a few years ago, the inhabitants of a small village were very much alarmed. One old woman, whom they all knew, was surprisingly calm and joyous. At length, one of them said to her, “Mother, are you not afraid?” “No, she replied, I rejoice to know that I have a God who can shake the world.” (New Century Leader).

10-Teach me to do Your will,

For You are my God;

Your Spirit is good.

Lead me in the land of uprightness.

Jimmy is a professional fisherman. He makes his living fishing on the BASS (Bass Angler Sportsman Society) circuit. He is also a devout Christian and belongs to the FBC Keys, Oklahoma.

This year, BASS made a ruling that to be eligible for the fisherman of the year award ($100,000), you had to wear the patch and decal of a prominent sponsor--Busch Beer!

Jimmy Houston refused to do it, thereby forfeiting his chance at the $100,000. A fellow Christian fisherman on the circuit asked him, "Jimmy, have you prayed about that?" Jimmy replied, "I don’t have to pray about it. There is no decision for me to make. God has already made the decision in His Word when He said not to do anything that would damage our testimony as Christians."
