INTRODUCTION
As the year draws to a close, God does not intend for His people to cross over empty-handed. The will of God is that believers carry testimonies—visible, undeniable evidences of divine intervention—into the new year. Testimonies glorify God and silence the voice of the enemy.
Many people enter a new year merely with hopes and resolutions, but God desires that we enter with thanksgiving and proofs. A testimony is not just a story; it is a spiritual weapon that confirms God’s power, establishes faith, and opens the door for greater miracles.
This message reveals how to position yourself to end the year with testimonies and step into the new year carrying divine evidence of victory, preservation, provision, and transformation.
1. TESTIMONIES ARE GOD’S INTENTION FOR HIS PEOPLE
God never planned that His children live from year to year without evidences of His goodness. Testimonies are proof that God is alive, faithful, and actively involved in the affairs of His people.
a) TESTIMONIES GLORIFY GOD (Isaiah 43:7)
God delivers His people so that His glory may be revealed through their lives, making testimonies a divine agenda and not an accident.
b) TESTIMONIES SILENCE THE ENEMY (Revelation 12:11)
When testimonies are declared, accusations, shame, and satanic narratives are defeated by the evidence of God’s intervention.
c) TESTIMONIES STRENGTHEN FAITH (Psalm 126:1-3)
Remembering what God has done fuels confidence and expectation for greater works ahead.
d) TESTIMONIES CONFIRM GOD’S FAITHFULNESS (Lamentations 3:22-23)
Each testimony is a reminder that God never abandons His people, even in difficult seasons.
Biblical Example: The Israelites consistently testified of God’s deliverance from Egypt as evidence of His power and covenant faithfulness (Exodus 15:1-21).
2. TESTIMONIES MUST BE INTENTIONALLY CARRIED FORWARD
Testimonies can be lost when they are not preserved, acknowledged, and declared. God expects His people to consciously carry their testimonies into new seasons.
a) REMEMBER WHAT GOD HAS DONE (Psalm 103:2)
Forgetting past victories weakens gratitude and reduces spiritual confidence for the future.
b) DECLARE YOUR TESTIMONY BOLDLY (Psalm 66:16)
Speaking of God’s works reinforces faith and invites further manifestations.
c) REFUSE TO DOWNPLAY GOD’S WORKS (Mark 5:19)
Minimizing your testimony diminishes the honour due to God and weakens spiritual impact.
d) TURN TESTIMONIES INTO PRAISE (Psalm 34:1)
Sustained praise preserves testimonies and multiplies divine encounters.
Biblical Example: The healed demoniac was instructed by Jesus to declare what the Lord had done for him, turning his deliverance into a lasting testimony (Luke 8:38-39).
3. TESTIMONIES POSITION YOU FOR GREATER WORKS
God often uses testimonies as foundations upon which He builds greater blessings and higher dimensions of glory.
a) TESTIMONIES ATTRACT MORE MIRACLES (John 5:14)
Gratitude and acknowledgment of God’s works prepare the heart for higher encounters.
b) TESTIMONIES OPEN DOORS FOR INCREASE (1 Samuel 7:12)
Remembering past help invites future help and sustained divine intervention.
c) TESTIMONIES CREATE MOMENTUM (Psalm 77:11-12)
Reflection on God’s mighty acts builds spiritual confidence to face new challenges.
d) TESTIMONIES BRING PUBLIC HONOUR (Esther 6:1-11)
God uses testimonies to announce His favour and elevate His people openly.
Biblical Example: David’s testimony of past victories over the lion and bear positioned him for triumph over Goliath (1 Samuel 17:34-37).
4. CROSSING INTO THE NEW YEAR WITH TESTIMONIES GUARANTEES JOY
A new year entered with testimonies is marked by joy, confidence, and divine assurance rather than fear and uncertainty.
a) TESTIMONIES TURN MOURNING INTO JOY (Psalm 30:11)
What once caused pain becomes a source of praise and celebration.
b) TESTIMONIES REMOVE FEAR OF THE FUTURE (Romans 8:31)
Knowing what God has done eliminates anxiety about what lies ahead.
c) TESTIMONIES PRODUCE LASTING THANKSGIVING (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Gratitude becomes a lifestyle when testimonies are preserved.
d) TESTIMONIES ANNOUNCE A BETTER TOMORROW (Job 8:7)
When God has helped before, it is a guarantee that the future holds greater glory.
Biblical Example: Job’s latter end was greater than his beginning because God turned his trials into testimonies (Job 42:10-12).
CONCLUSION
God’s desire is not only to bless you but to leave undeniable evidence of His goodness in your life. As the year ends, you must deliberately gather, preserve, and declare your testimonies, knowing that they are spiritual currencies for the future.
As you cross into the new year carrying testimonies, may your past victories become foundations for greater breakthroughs, deeper joy, and louder praise to the glory of God.
