1.What is the captivity of job?

captivity means imprisoned,but here it means losing.Like job many people are losing there vital possessions.Here we can see what job had lost.

A.MATERIALISTIC BLESSING REMOVED.

Job had 7000 sheep,3000 camels,500 yoke of oxen,500 donkeys and large number of servants.He had greatest blessing among all the people of east.He was having: a.greatest wealth and riches;b.greatest power and authority; and c. greatest honor and esteem.This kind of materialistic reveal that,job was from Arabia and its surrounding countries.Gen25:6

B. FAMILY BLESSING REMOVED

Sons and daughters expired due to mighty wind.Great family fellowship removed.Joy,Peace,Happiness removed.

all the purification,Obedience,humility and love removed from him.In the end his wife said,curse god and then destroyed yourself.No comfort from his wife,all family blessing went away within hour.

C.HEALTHY BLESSING REMOVED

Healthiness was his strengtheners.Great plague came to him only.Pain in his body,itching and firing in his body.No sleep,cannot sit,run,cannot work,cannot take food,drink and cannot cloth.He lost Healthiness in body and in soul.

D. SPIRITUAL BLESSING REMOVED

God hide Himself from his face.No comforting words from God.No Angels came to hold and guard.Hedge removed.Friends became foe.Loneliness came upon.pain,bitterness,eagerness destroyed.He was the intention to ask God,why these are happening.Job didn't understand the cause of suffering.

These all the sources of man to live in this God's world.Job had lost this all and he went to desert,that is captivity.

2.What God did for job to remove the captivity?

A. GOD DESCENDED

Job 38:1 says,Lord answered job out of the storm.Elihu imagined this wind as golden spender and awesome majesty(37:21,22)God understood job's mindful intention to see God(19:25-270.He descended to transform job,but He is correcting some bad intention of job and his friends.

why God asked some initial.hard and problematic questions?Job and his friends try to explain God's status in their discussions.So Lord wants to taught some lessons to job.NIV says,The divine discourses,then,succeed in bringing job to complete faith in God's wisdom and goodness without His receiving a direct answer to his questions.

B. GOD COMMANDED

1.Lord asked job,you must say answer to my questions(38:3); 2.no one to correct Lord and contend with Lord(40:2); 3.friends must pay the price with sacrifice(42:8); 4.Job must pray for friends(42:8). Job answered,but pleaded to God,then offered prayer for his friends.

C. LORD ACCEPTED(42:9)

Job did two things:a. he offered a sacrifice for his friends and act like a priest; b. then he offered a prayer for his friends and act like priest,Then Lord look at his friends and they received forgiveness,then Lord looked at job's face,and Lord grieved in His heart about his condition and the transformation came.

3.What job did for himself to remove his captivity?

A.PRAYED FOR HIS FRIENDS

whether we are in illness,weakness and deficiency ,we must pray for our friends and relatives repentance and conversion.God likes this.see this things happened in many peoples life.Gen20:17,18 , Moses in Ex 17:4,5 also in luke16:27;Acts7:50,60.

B. JOB STOOD IN BLAMELESS OR FIRM IN BLAMELESS(1:1,22).

Blameless and upright describes he is spiritually and morally upright(Ps26:1).Job knew that he was in blameless.He never give up this blameless.Blameless means,describing himself,describe by others and no sake in his heart.Lord wants blameless people to receive His source for whole world and mankind ;for spiritual world and His church

C. HE WAITED PATIENTLY FOR LORD'S ANSWER.

He didn't see the lord and didn't hear His words.yet he was waiting,that was hopeful waiting.Whether the answer will be in the last days,but he believed that,i will not die before got the answer from the Lord.Whatever may be the situation.He is waiting was perfect waiting.

D. HE PRAYED FOR HIS LOST,

Whatever he had lost in his captivity,he claimed with pleading(42:6).Lord knows the lost,but He is expecting His people to claim the lost.
