Summary: Satan manifests in many different ways. Can you recognize the ways especially when Satan is attacking you?

Unfortunately, we have to accept that two opposing forces are working in the LORD’s Universe. They are called good and evil. They are created by the positive and negative energies that exist. An accumulation of positive energy is remarkable for a person to have. However, the truth is that you want to be neutral. Negative energy is an essential part of the Universe. Just think about electricity. It is negative energy, and without it, you would not be reading this. Therefore, you need both. It is keeping a balance that is the key to living well under the LORD’s ways.

Think about this as a scale from -5 to +5. As you reach +5 on the scale, you will not be able to recognize negative energy, and worse, you will not recognize evil people. You will be taken advantage of by evil people who pretend to be good. It is a blindness that is created, and the way out is to absorb negative energy and get back to a balance of 0.

If you move to -5, then the Klippot will form around you. Klippot is a Hebrew word meaning “shell.” Evil inclination comes from a build-up of negative energy. This energy surrounds everyone. Suppose you absorb too much negative energy and not counterbalancing it with positive energy. In that case, you will become an evil person. -5 people will find it difficult to change because the Klippot prevents positive energy from reaching these people.

Negative energy is easy to accumulate in this world. This is sad but the truth. You don’t have to search out negative energy. It finds you. Positive energy, on the other hand, you have to seek out yourself. You have to absorb it intentionally. It exists in the same quantity as negative energy. It is just something that does not automatically become a part of a person without effort.

In this Mark narrative, Jesus is called Beelzebub. The scribes of Jerusalem said that Beelzubul was influencing Jesus. Consider this statement as saying that the Klippot surrounded Jesus. How can this Klippot form? Jesus would have to have absorbed only negative energy and turned to evil because of the influence of Evil Inclination and eventually turned so evil that the Klippot surrounded Him. The scribes were under the influence of Evil Inclination and did not understand that they were being driven to confront Jesus. How can one who is evil call another person evil? Sure it can be done. Evil people hurt evil people if it is in their best interest. The scribes of Jerusalem wanted to maintain their control over the people. Jesus was a positive only influence on the people and helped many of them to come back into balance.

The scribes of Jerusalem could not influence all of the people to leave Jesus’s positive energy. This battle between pure good and pure evil continues throughout the Gospel and throughout our lives today.

This narrative has a riddle to it. Can Satan clean up his own house? If Satan influenced Jesus, then Satan was working against his own house. Jesus was leading a revolt against the power of Satan. Evil inclination had infected so many of the people in Judea and Galilee, especially the ruling class. Satan was not going to rid the people of evil inclination because Satan enjoyed a free reign on Earth when Evil inclination was winning. Therefore, Jesus fought a battle against Satan and Evil inclination. He tried to bring a positive way to a life that was pleasing to the LORD.

Sometimes it is difficult to determine if a person is influenced by the LORD or by Evil inclination (Satan). Jesus’s detractors publicly said that He was the problem. That is what Evil inclination does. It tries to confuse not only the person it has control of but also everyone around the person. Confused people can be easily influenced. A part of Jesus’s mission was to break the bonds that Satan had on people. He wanted to open their eyes to reality. Once the peoples’ eyes were open, they would recognize Evil inclination and fight against it.

May the LORD bless you in your learning and studying of His Word.
