I. EXORDIUM:

Are you called to be righteous?

Yes.

II. AUDIENCE PROFILE:

Believers/unbelievers

III. OBJECTIVES:

To show that GOD does the calling, He called us not us calling Him, He has chosen us before the foundation of the world.

Ephesians 1:4 (Amplified Bible)

Even as [in His love] He chose us [actually picked us out for Himself as His own] in Christ before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy (consecrated and set apart for Him) and blameless in His sight, even above reproach, before Him in love.

IV. TEXT:

Isaiah 42:6 (Amplified Bible)

I the Lord have called You [the Messiah] for a righteous purpose and in righteousness; I will take You by the hand and will keep You; I will give You for a covenant to the people [Israel], for a light to the nations [Gentiles],

V. THESIS:

Praise, worship, glorify, adore, bless, honor, acknowledge and thank You very much LORD JESUS for You have called me in righteousness, You took my hand, You protected me, You gave me a covenant to the people, making me a light to the Gentiles, thank You FATHER OF LIGHTS.

James 1:17 (Amplified Bible)

Every good gift and every perfect (free, large, full) gift is from above; it comes down from the Father of all [that gives] light, in [the shining of] Whom there can be no variation [rising or setting] or shadow cast by His turning [as in an eclipse].

VI. TITLE:

Called in righteousness

VII. EXPLICATION:

A. Author: Isaiah - son of Amos, prophesied during reigns of Uzziah, Jotham, Ahaz and Hezekiah.

B. Isaiah is regarded as greatest Old Testament prophet: (1) preeminently the prophet of redemption, (2) passages in this book are among the finest in literature.

VIII. MAIN BODY:

Isaiah 42:6 (Amplified Bible)

I the Lord have called You [the Messiah] for a righteous purpose and in righteousness; I will take You by the hand and will keep You; I will give You for a covenant to the people [Israel], for a light to the nations [Gentiles],

Isaiah 42:6 (King James Version)

I the LORD have called thee in righteousness, and will hold thine hand, and will keep thee, and give thee for a covenant of the people, for a light of the Gentiles;

A. The LORD JESUS called me in righteousness : The LORD JESUS will hold my hand and will keep me.

"I the Lord have called You [the Messiah] for a righteous purpose and in righteousness; I will take You by the hand and will keep You;"

Romans 3:25-26 (Amplified Bible)

Whom God put forward [before the eyes of all] as a mercy seat and propitiation by His blood [the cleansing and life-giving sacrifice of atonement and reconciliation, to be received] through faith. This was to show God’s righteousness, because in His divine forbearance He had passed over and ignored former sins without punishment.

It was to demonstrate and prove at the present time (in the now season) that He Himself is righteous and that He justifies and accepts as righteous him who has [true] faith in Jesus.

Hebrews 7:2 (Amplified Bible)

And Abraham gave to him a tenth portion of all [the spoil]. He is primarily, as his name when translated indicates, king of righteousness, and then he is also king of Salem, which means king of peace.

Hebrews 7:26 (Amplified Bible)

[Here is] the High Priest [perfectly adapted] to our needs, as was fitting—holy, blameless, unstained by sin, separated from sinners, and exalted higher than the heavens.

The LORD JESUS promised to me that He called me in the right act toward Him and toward all men. He promised me and us that He will hold our hand and He will protect (keep) us. What a joy to know it, we have a GOD, an infinitely huge GOD holding our hands, guiding us so that we are always protected and will not commit any errors.

B. The LORD JESUS gave me a covenant for the people : The LORD JESUS made a light for the Gentiles

"I will give You for a covenant to the people [Israel], for a light to the nations [Gentiles],"

Galatians 3:15-17 (Amplified Bible)

To speak in terms of human relations, brethren, [if] even a man makes a last will and testament (a merely human covenant), no one sets it aside or makes it void or adds to it when once it has been drawn up and signed (ratified, confirmed).

Now the promises (covenants, agreements) were decreed and made to Abraham and his Seed (his Offspring, his Heir). He [God] does not say, And to seeds (descendants, heirs), as if referring to many persons, but, And to your Seed (your Descendant, your Heir), obviously referring to one individual, Who is [none other than] Christ (the Messiah).
