Testimony of my first sermon, August of 1990.

READ EXODUS 3:1-11

Give vision of “Hand to Hand, Bringing Others Along”.

HAND TO HAND

BRINGING ALONG

OTHERS

INTRODUCTION:

The Lord has put upon my heart that we are all to bring someone along in our walk with Christ. Literally, “HAND TO HAND, BRINGING OTHERS ALONG.” You personally may not see the need to take a discipleship class, attend a church service, a conference or special training sessions but you may know of someone who does. So, bring them along! As you reach out to bring another along, by your example, they will also reach out and bring someone along. By doing this simple act we will be answering the call of the “Great Commission” of REACHING…TEACHING…SENDING.

As I reflect upon the vision for North Thurston Life Center the Lord reminds me of Matthew 28:18 when Jesus said to the disciples, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me (Jesus). Not directly to the disciples but indirectly through Jesus Christ who is in them and will never leave them. As I look upon the Scriptures what jumps out to me is that the “Authority” given to Jesus who is in all believers is for three (3) reasons.

1. Leading people to Christ REACH

2. Discipleship TEACH

3. Encourage them to do the same with another SEND

It is imperative that every Believer duplicates him or herself at every age level. Just as Jesus reached out to all unbelievers we also must reach out with compassion to the unbeliever as well as the believer.

It is the role of every believer who calls North Thurston Life Center their church to grab the hand of another and lead them into a living relationship with Jesus Christ no matter how young or how old. From a child bringing a friend to Sonlight or one of our precious V.I.P. Seniors reaching out to a young woman in need we all have the ability to put our hand out to help another along.

We will accomplish this in several ways beginning with Godly leadership.

I. GODLY LEADERSHIP

A. Pastor

B. Pastoral Staff

C. Board

D. Leadership

E. Congregation

Every level will be led by the example of the preceding levels call to holiness.

Focus teachings, Leadership Training and in/out of church conferences.

The Pastor will train Staff and Board they in turn will train up leaders who will train up the congregation. Everyone looking to bring another along “HAND TO HAND.”

All levels will be involved with “Passive Evangelism.” Always looking for an opportunity to share Jesus with another through example and personal witnessing.

Just as God asked Isaiah “who will go for us” God is asking us today who will do the work of the Father?

God asked Moses to lead His people out of bondage and I am here to tell you today that God’s people are still in bondage!

We are still bound by sin and crippled with fear and doubt.

God empowered His people at Pentecost to go out into all Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth to bring in the harvest of souls, heal the sick, cast out demons and set the captives free!

But Moses had doubts so God gave him a “Burning Bush Experience” and today with the wonder of technology I am going to give you a burning bush experience.

IV. THE FIVE NO’S OF MOSES

 No ABILITY

Exodus 3:11, But Moses said to God, “Who am I, that I should go to Pharaoh and bring the Israelites out of Egypt?”

 No MESSAGE

Exodus 3:13, Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?”
