Breaking Up is Hard To Do

Exodus 14:12-14 (King James Version) Pastor Ken Crow

12Is not this the word that we did tell thee in Egypt, saying, Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians? For it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than that we should die in the wilderness.

13And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.

1. The Israelites had been in bondage for so long the oppression had become comfortable.

We see here in verse 12 they had told Moses from the beginning to just go on and mind his own business and they would continue to serve the Egyptians in misery and anguish for the rest of their own lives and after that they would just pass this same misery and this same anguish on to their children.

See we have to be ready this morning to break up with our pharaoh!

Something that oppresses us is our pharaoh! Something that holds us back is our pharaoh! Some thing that stands between us and our victory is our pharaoh.

And I am gong to be real straight here and I hope some do not get offended at me but some of us are just like this generation of Israelites.

Listen to this and listen close so you don’t misunderstand what I am about to say.

I have no place to complain about my illnesses to my brothers and sisters in the Lord if I continually refuse to be prayed for regarding my illnesses.

Am I willing to break up with pharaoh?

James 5:13-17 (King James Version)

13Is any among you afflicted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.

14Is any sick among you? let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord:

15And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.

16Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.

17Elias was a man subject to like passions as we are, and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain: and it rained not on the earth by the space of three years and six months.

You say Pastor who in the world would not want prayer if they are sick?

In the last five years I have seen scores of them.

Now if we lay hands on you and you don’t get healed you complain to me all you want to, but if you sit back every service refusing to be prayed for, refusing to part with your pharaoh then ……

The lady with the issue of blood had to be willing to wave goodbye to the oppressor. All that Jesus healed had to break up with their pharaoh.

We could stay here along time but we better move on.

2. Let us move on to verse thirteen of our text in Exodus chapter 14.

13And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

You shall see them again no more forever.

Someone today in here has been spiritually joined to pharaoh long enough!

It is time to say goodbye! It is time to wave to the oppressor and say I am not having this any more. Jesus paid my debt and led me out of the bondage of sin one day at a place called Calvary. He is my rock! He is my salvation!

Jesus is my deliverer! Someone say along with me, wave with me,feel this in your heart with me! I am breaking up with you, pharaoh and I am joining Jesus Christ and he is going to lead me to my promise land! I have lived without the milk and honey long enough and this morning my victory is in him and with him I cannot fail.

Say this with me if you are ready to wave goodbye to your pharaoh.

2 Corinthians 2:14 (King James Version)

14Now thanks be unto God, which always causeth us to triumph in Christ, and maketh manifest the savour of his knowledge by us in every place.

3. Exodus 14:14

14The LORD shall fight for you, and ye shall hold your peace.
