Don’t Live In Fear

2 Timothy 1:7 (NKJV) For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.

2 Timothy 1:7 (NLT) For God has not given us a spirit of fear and timidity, but of power, love, and self-discipline.

For the last 2 weeks we have been looking at fear and how to break its power over us.

We see and know that fear is not of God and that there is no fear in Him

1 John 4:18 (NKJV) There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.

When we come to the place of seeing who God really is, that He is a God of Abundant overflow, then we can truly live a fear free life.

John 10:10 (NKJV) The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

The 3 things that the thief brings to cause fear in peoples lives. (Steal, Kill and Destroy)

Remember fear is:

F- False

E- Evidence

A- Appearing

R- Real

Remember, We once lived in his fear, but now we don’t have to anymore.

Romans 8:15 (NKJV) For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, "Abba, Father."

Romans 8:15 (AMP) For [the Spirit which] you have now received [is] not a spirit of slavery to put you once more in bondage to fear, but you have received the Spirit of adoption [the Spirit producing sonship] in [the bliss of] which we cry, Abba (Father)! Father!

An expanded interpretive translation of John 10:10 could read this way:

‘The thief wants to get his hands into every good thing in your life. In fact, this pickpocket is looking for any opportunity to wiggle his way so deeply into your personal affairs that he can walk off with everything you hold precious and dear. And that’s not all — when he ‘finished stealing all your goods and possessions, he'll take his plan to rob you blind to the next level. He’ll create conditions and situations so horrible that you'll ‘II see no way to solve the problem except to sacrifice everything that remains from his previous attacks.

The goal of this thief is to totally devastate and lay waste to your life. If nothing stops him, he’ll leave you insolvent, flat broke, and cleaned out in every area of your life. You’ll end up feeling as if you are finished and out of business! Make no mistake — the enemy's ultimate aim is to obliterate you.”

God doesn't want us living in fear. He wants us living in His overflow Abundant Blessings.

John 10:10 (AMP) The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance (to the full, till it overflows).

“. . .But I came that they might have, keep, and constantly retain a vitality, gusto, vigor, and zest for living that springs up from deep down inside. I came that they might embrace this unrivaled, unequaled, matchless, incomparable, richly loaded, and overflowing life to the ultimate maximum!”

Think of this, What was God's first command to the human race through Adam and Eve.

Many will say, Don't eat the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. And the reason we say this is because we have been taught that God is always out to mess us up, to get us to fall, and to take what little we have.

Genesis 2:15-17 (NKJV) Then the Lord God took the man and put him in the garden of Eden to tend and keep it. 16 And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “Of every tree of the garden you may freely eat; 17 but of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil you shall not eat, for in the day that you eat of it you shall surely die.”

God’s 1st command was to Bless us. In fact all the commandments of God were given to us to help us and bless us. Man has made them a curse.

Isaiah 1:19 (NKJV) If you are willing and obedient, You shall eat the good of the land;

I believe with all my heart, that God does not want a life for his kids of constant fears and worries, But he wants us to have a “Calm and peaceful life”.
