Have you ever noticed that when you go to a doctor for the first time they always want to know if there have been any problems of sickness in your family?

The same for insurance companies they always ask,

Is there any, Diabetes, cancer, heart disease, hypertension, suicide, depression etc!!

I have spoken to Doctors and asked why families have generational sickness problems, Their answer is always we don’t really know! We just know that there seems to be some hereditary factors that connect families down the generations.

When you have a question the best place to look is always the bible:

EXODUS 20:5

5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the LORD your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,

but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.

If you want to leave a lasting legacy for your Children’s children for a thousand generations then give your life to Jesus and walk in His ways:

However the sin that your Great grandfather, grandfather, father (& Mothers) will have an effect on your life.

That’s why Doctors and insurance companies always ask the above.

What those people did affects you. ( What you do affects you and your children)

The Sin of your fore fathers brings a curse.

PROVERBS 26:2

As the bird by wandering, as the swallow by flying, so the curse causeless shall not come.

There is always a cause for the curse.

God has Laws and they cannot be broken with out consequence.

Adam and eve were the first to learn this:

14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:

15 And I will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed; it shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.

16 Unto the woman he said, I will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, and he shall rule over thee.

17 And unto Adam he said, Because thou hast hearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I commanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life;

18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou shalt eat the herb of the field;

19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

20 And Adam called his wife’s name Eve; because she was the mother of all living.

When God created Adam and Eve he blessed them, But the result of their sin brought a curse.

Verse 21 gives a hint to the breaking of the curse:

Unto Adam also and to his wife did the LORD God make coats of skins, and clothed them.

The first blood shed for sin in the bible.

THE BLOOD OF JESUS IS THE ANSWER TO THE CURSE:

The curse on the land and the curse of sin came through ADAM

GEN 9: Story of Noah who got drunk:

20 And Noah began to be an husbandman, and he planted a vineyard:

21 And he drank of the wine, and was drunken; and he was uncovered within his tent.

22 And Ham, the father of Canaan, saw the nakedness of his father, and told his two brethren without.

23 And Shem and Japheth took a garment, and laid it upon both their shoulders, and went backward, and covered the nakedness of their father; and their faces were backward, and they saw not their father’s nakedness.

24 And Noah awoke from his wine, and knew what his younger son had done unto him.

25 And he said, Cursed be Canaan; a servant of servants shall he be unto his brethren.

Note Noah cursed Canaan: Canaan was the father of the cities Sodom & Gomarah. What was their sin:? Sexual perversion….. the actions of Canaan were visited on His descendants: ie Noah was sexually attacked by Cannan, and the Sins of Cannan affected his childrens Children, The good news is Gods grace breaks through the curse, (Rahab the Harlot who helped the Israelites at Jerico was a Cananite, She is included in the Genealogy of Jesus because of Her faith in the God of Israel)
