INTRODUCTION:
Life is full of barriers—spiritual, emotional, relational, financial, and institutional—that attempt to stop people from fulfilling God’s purpose. Many destinies remain stagnant not because of a lack of potential, but because of the limitations erected by enemies, circumstances, and even self-doubt.
However, there is a greater force than every opposition—the power of the living God. When God arises, barriers collapse, and gates open. He specialises in making ways where there are no ways.
This teaching will equip you with scriptural truths and practical insights to rise above barriers and live as an unstoppable child of God. Through the power of God, no barrier can stand before you.
1. GOD’S POWER IS GREATER THAN EVERY BARRIER
The presence of divine power nullifies the impact of human or demonic resistance.
a) God opens doors no man can shut
Revelation 3:7–8 reminds us that God has the authority to open and shut doors according to His will.
b) No enemy can withstand God’s move
Psalm 24:7–10 declares that the King of Glory has power to enter and scatter every opposition.
c) Barriers may be real, but God’s power is superior
Jeremiah 32:27 says, “Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me?”
d) Divine power removes both visible and invisible hindrances
2 Kings 6:16-17 shows us how God opened Elisha’s servant’s eyes to see the spiritual power surrounding them.
Biblical Example: The Fall of Jericho (Joshua 6:1-20)
The fortified walls of Jericho fell flat when the power of God was released in obedience.
2. GOD GIVES STRATEGIC INSTRUCTIONS TO BREAK BARRIERS
Divine strategies are the weapons for supernatural victories.
a) Divine instructions often precede divine intervention
Isaiah 30:21 assures us that we will hear His voice saying, “This is the way.”
b) Obedience to divine guidance guarantees barrier-breaking results
Deuteronomy 28:1–2 promises blessings when we obey God's commandments.
c) God uses unusual methods to confound the enemy
1 Corinthians 1:27 shows how God chooses the foolish things of the world to shame the wise.
d) Faith in God’s instruction leads to manifestation of power
Luke 5:5-6 demonstrates this when Peter obeyed Jesus and caught a great multitude of fish.
e) Biblical Example: Moses and the Red Sea (Exodus 14:13–31)
God gave Moses a strategy to stretch out his rod, which parted the Red Sea and created a way of escape.
3. PRAYER AND PRAISE ACTIVATE SUPERNATURAL BREAKTHROUGHS
The spiritual atmosphere shifts when believers pray and praise.
a) Prayer brings divine intervention into impossible situations
James 5:16 tells us that the effectual fervent prayer of the righteous avails much.
b) Praise invites God’s presence to fight on your behalf
Psalm 22:3 says God inhabits the praises of His people.
c) Combined prayer and praise confuse the enemy
2 Chronicles 20:21-22 shows how Israel’s enemies turned on one another during praise.
d) The prison doors of life open through prayer and praise
Acts 16:25-26 reveals how Paul and Silas prayed and sang until the prison foundations were shaken.
Biblical Example: Jehoshaphat’s Victory through Praise (2 Chronicles 20:1-30)
God set ambushes for the enemies of Judah when they praised Him instead of panicking.
4. THE ANOINTING DESTROYS YOKES AND BREAKS BARRIERS
The presence of the Holy Spirit breaks limitations and releases divine ease.
a) The anointing is God’s power in action
Acts 10:38 says Jesus was anointed with the Holy Ghost and power to do good and heal.
b) Yokes are destroyed by the anointing, not human effort
Isaiah 10:27 assures that the burden shall be lifted and the yoke destroyed because of the anointing.
c) The anointing lifts you above natural limitations
Zechariah 4:6–7 reminds us it’s not by might nor by power but by God’s Spirit.
d) When the Spirit moves, nothing remains the same
Ezekiel 37:1–10 demonstrates the Spirit reviving dead bones into a great army.
Biblical Example: David anointed to defeat Goliath (1 Samuel 16:13; 17:45–50)
David broke the barrier of fear and intimidation because of divine anointing.
5. YOUR FAITH IN GOD MAKES YOU UNSTOPPABLE
Faith is the force that connects you to God's unlimited power.
a) Faith sees the invisible and believes the impossible
Hebrews 11:1 teaches that faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.
b) Faith moves God to act on your behalf
Matthew 9:29 says, “According to your faith be it unto you.”
c) Without faith, it is impossible to please God or receive from Him
Hebrews 11:6 makes this very clear.
d) Faith in action breaks limitations
Mark 2:5–12 shows the healing of the paralysed man whose friends lowered him through the roof.
