Heb 13:8

8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever.

You can remain as you are or you can

PRAY, FAST, & STUDY and Change.

CHANGE: to many is a dirty word, this six-letter word has inspired great men and leaders to take a look at where they are and evaluate their positions of progress.

But many of us will listen to this message and never be challenge to step beyond our current place of comfort and move into the place of servitude.

If we refuse to change we refuse to learn.

As I spoke this last week I spoke to two different places and found at each there were two differing groupings of people.

1. People who were tired of their current place in ministry and were willing to receive what God was saying to them.

2. People who thought they had it together and thought that we were boring or didn’t have anything relevant to say.

The word says that the eye is the gate way to the soul…. You can tell a lot from just looking at a person eyes and demeanor.

Some of us are just plain ole stuck in the rut….

That is a grave without any ends.

We must as Christians come to grip with the fact that “Our message is sacred, but our methods are not.

Turn with me to:

Gen 12:1-4

1 Now the LORD had said unto Abram, Get thee out of thy country, and from thy kindred, and from thy father’s house, unto a land that I will shew thee:

2 And I will make of thee a great nation, and I will bless thee, and make thy name great; and thou shalt be a blessing:

3 And I will bless them that bless thee, and curse him that curseth thee: and in thee shall all families of the earth be blessed.

4 So Abram departed, as the LORD had spoken unto him; and Lot went with him: and Abram was seventy and five years old when he departed out of Haran.

(KJV)

# 1.) We must leave our comfort zone:

a. We must leave that place of just coming to church and sitting

b. Some will ask what is comfort well “do you remember the old chairs

and how uncomfortable they were and now we have these new ones.”

c. Some people even have specific chairs and places to sit.

d. God told Abraham “get out of the soft spot buddy.” And go

somewhere

#2.) It requires something from them

II Ki 4:1-6

1 Now there cried a certain woman of the wives of the sons of the prophets unto Elisha, saying, Thy servant my husband is dead; and thou knowest that thy servant did fear the LORD: and the creditor is come to take unto him my two sons to be bondmen.

2 And Elisha said unto her, What shall I do for thee? tell me, what hast thou in the house? And she said, Thine handmaid hath not any thing in the house, save a pot of oil.

3 Then he said, Go, borrow thee vessels abroad of all thy neighbours, even empty vessels; borrow not a few.

4 And when thou art come in, thou shalt shut the door upon thee and upon thy sons, and shalt pour out into all those vessels, and thou shalt set aside that which is full.

5 So she went from him, and shut the door upon her and upon her sons, who brought the vessels to her; and she poured out.

6 And it came to pass, when the vessels were full, that she said unto her son, Bring me yet a vessel. And he said unto her, There is not a vessel more. And the oil stayed.

(KJV)

a. How long has it been since you invited someone to this church other than your family?

b. Am I afraid of inviting someone and them saying no your church is

for losers. In other words you have a tremendous fear of rejection.

I am here to tell you this morning that is not a spirit from God.

c. We need leaders who don’t know it all and are hungry for the manifest

presence of God to move in their lives and in their ministries.

#3.) Fear of failing

a. We have a the attitude of “I would but”

b. I know I should but

c. I know the words says I can but

d. If he would just give me a sign… so I would know that it was him

“If you don’t plan to succeed then you have already succumbed to failure!”

Phil 4:13

13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

(NKJ)

Phil 4:13

13 I can do everything through him who gives me strength.
