Branches Run Over A Wall

Summary: It’s not just about me, my family, my space, my time or my life but God wants you to be like Joseph, whose branches ran over a wall.
Over a wall
Genesis 39:22 "Joseph is a fruitful bough, A fruitful bough by a spring; `Its` branches run over a wall.”
I like the words that Joseph is a fruitful bough, now watch this, ‘the branches run over a wall. This here is superb! Run over a wall! I remember as a small girl I went to my uncle’s vineyard but since they had given it for lease, we were not allowed to touch the grapes, even the ones scattered on the ground; however, they would just give us a hand full to eat, that’s it. But when the grapes break the barriers and start growing over the wall and hang outside the house, now even the people who pass by the house can enjoy those fruits. People who are hungry, thirsty, sick and tired can just grab a handful of grapes and eat them. God wants us to be such grapes growing over the wall. Anybody listening to me? It’s not just about me, my family, my space, my time or my life but God wants you to be like Joseph, whose branches ran over a wall. He became a blessing for the whole Egypt, ah!
Jesus said that we were chosen to bear MUCH fruits and glorify our Father in heaven (John 15:8) Many of us are dead Christians contributing nothing to the society, church or the kingdom of God. Most of the time is spent either working, working and making more money or on smart phones browsing endlessly and wastefully. Anybody listening? John 15:2 says: "Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes away; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it so that it may bear more fruit.
Back while working for a multinational bank, next to my work station was the cubicle of a woman who was an officer who had around ten young professionals working under her. I would visit her seat often and share Gospel with her. She told me, every Saturday she would visit a Children Home and teach them English, she said, time spent with those kids who call her ‘dhidhi (sister)’ were priceless and precious. She was a woman who did not know Christ, she could have spent her Saturdays either sleeping, dating, shopping or eating, but she invested her time into the lives of those special kids.
Church and the Kingdom of God are in need of : helpers, volunteers, prayer warriors, part time workers, counselors and much more…. Why not meet your pastor and offer your help? I am serious. As believers and blood-washed Christians, what do we contribute to the society? Tell me. God bless you!
