Summary: The blood and water represent two powers released upon the earth through the death of Jesus. Jesus carried two great treasures within His body which was only released when He died.

Blood and Water

John 19:34 - But one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water came out.

The blood and water represent two powers released upon the earth through the death of Jesus.

Jesus carried two great treasures within His body which was only released when He died.

As His side was pierced, the blood and water touched the ground, heaven touched earth and two of the greatest blessings for mankind became available to each and every person alive on the earth at that time and also for the millions upon millions who would be born in future generations.

THE BLOOD

One of the treasures that Jesus carried within Him was salvation to everyone who would accept Him. Jesus became the spotless lamb and His blood has the power to reconcile us to the Father.

We can access His salvation through faith.

THE WATER

The other treasure that Jesus carried within Him was water which represents the power of the Holy Spirit which is made available to every believer. The water enables us to live a victorious because of God’s power and not our power.

John 12:23 - But Jesus answered them, saying, "The hour has come that the Son of Man should be glorified. Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain.”

Perhaps Jesus was referring to the blood and water which would be a seed that would produce a mighty harvest of believers who have applied the blood and who walk in the power of God’s Spirit.

Death does not have to be the final word.

Revelation 1:18 - I am He who lives and was dead and behold I am alive forever more.

God does well with tombs and cemeteries because death is not the final word when God is involved.

When our lives fall apart and we experience death in our relationships, ministries, or finances, do not let that be the final word, because God is in the resurrection business. God always has a plan.

To the believer, a cemetery represents hope because death is not the final word. God will return to that burial place one day and the graves of God’s children will be opened and they be raised incorruptible and live with Him forever and ever.

John 11:25 - Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me, though he may die, he shall live.”

Jesus carried two treasures within His flesh which represented the blessings of heaven, but they were only released when His flesh died.

We have so much potential within us, but God wants us to deal with the flesh. When the flesh is crucified, only then will we be able to release our full potential. We are carriers of heaven’s blessings which will release heaven on earth.

Make a choice to live for God without any compromise.

Hebrews 3:7-8 – Today if you will hear His voice, do not harden your heart.
