Summary: Fearing Him is something that He expects from us. It is also His will that we fear Him. These days we have the best of everything in our Churches and Ministries but the fear of God. It is also stated in the Word that the fear of man is a snare but the fear of God is a fountain of life.

The Psalmist King David says in Psalms 112:1 that Blessed is the one who fears God. The fear of God follows a lot of blessings. When we talk about fearing God it does not mean that He is to be scared of, rather it is reverential fear. It is not phobia either. It is something that we revere. He deserves since He is the Creator. We need to know that He is a Mighty God and He holds the key to life and death. He is the El Shaddai. He is able and capable to do anything which our human minds cannot comprehend. Those who fear Him are Blessed. Our material possessions do not determine our blessings rather our intimacy and our relationship with God does. Let us look into a few details from Psalms 112.

Fear of God drives us to keep our lives in check so as to keep ourselves in the Will of God and the track which He has for our lives. It is the lack of fear of God where many end up in sin, transgression and iniquity. Our God is Omnipresent and Omniscient. He knows everything. He is to be revered. As mention in Deuteronomy 10:12, that He desires that His creation fear Him. We cannot take God lightly or casually.

The fear of man is a snare but the fear of God is a fountain of life. The Bible also states that the Angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him. The fear of God is the beginning of wisdom. There are numerous blessings that follow that those who fear Him.

The second part of verse 1 in Psalms 112 says "who delight greatly in HisCommandments." As children of God we have a mandate and that is to delight greatly in His Commandments. If the Word of God, the Presence of God, House of God does not excite us nothing in this world can. God is not interested in the hearers of His Word but the Doers of His Word. Obedient people truly please God. God loves those who are obedient to Him. Even as we continue reading down the lines of Psalms 112 there are beautiful promises that is spoken of.

Promises:

1. His descendants will be mighty on earth. The Bible calls the descendants of those who fear God as mighty.

2. The generation of the upright shall be blessed.

3. Wealth and riches will be in his house.

4. His righteousness endures forever.

5. Light arises in the darkness.

Let us impart and inculcate the Biblical values andthe fear of God into our lives as well as our Children so as to see the blessings of God flow into our lives and our generations.

God bless you abundantly !!!
