BLESSED ASSURANCE IN TROUBLED SEASONS:
Meditations from Job chapter 5
1.DEITY
Job 5:1,8-9
In troubled seasons we must look unto God .He is the one who does great wonders which are marvelous and innumerable. We must commit our cause to Him.We cannot always depends on others to pray for us and help us. We must learn to cry out to God ourselves.
2.DESTRUCTION
In troubled seasons we have the assurance that God will deal with the evil and the envious.We need not fret ourselves about evil doers. We must be careful to stay away from evil as it will bring destruction to us.
3.DISAPPOINTMENT
In troubled seasons we have the assurance that God will disappoint the craftiness of the wicked. He will frustrate their evil designs and bring great disappointment to all their evil expectations. We must commit all our affairs to Him and He will protect us from all snares and hidden dangers.
4.DISCIPLINE
In troubled seasons we must examine ourselves whether God is teaching us some lessons. God disciplines us in order to develop us and save us from destruction. Even though the process may be painful we can be sure that the results would be greatly beneficial to us.We should not despise the chastening of the Lord.We must allow Him to correct us and remove the shortcomings in our lives.
5.DELIVERANCE
In troubled seasons we have the assurance that God will deliver us. In every trouble that we face He will help us and protect us from evil. The Lord who has helped us so far will not fail us now. We must remember His deliverance so far in our lives and have the confidence that He will deliver us even in the days to come.
6.DIGNITY
Job 5:10-11 , 24-26
In troubled seasons we have the assurance that God will honour us and grant us dignity in our lives. He will lift us from a low state to a high state. He will lift those who mourn to a place of safety.He will bless us with peace. He will bless our future generations and grant us a fruitful life in this world.
7.DELIGHT
In troubled seasons we must delight in the goodness and faithfulness of God. We must not give place to despair and hopelessness. We must have the assurance that God is with us to help us and deliver us and bless us. We must not entertain any doubt about God’s promises in our lives. We must delight in the faithfulness of God and praise Him for his goodness.
